I'm like many of us on Rad a huge fan of this f and f and the bikes Craig ran.
Are there any on here ?
Benno do you have on one or am I'm confusing a drunkrn conversation on one of the rides ?
I know these are rare but why ?
I loved all versions that CC rode ( blue, green, lavender or powdered baby blue)
I've read/heard that these were the biggest selling framesets of the year outselling Haro and Skyways...
... If this was so then where are they all? Surely they didn't all get binned or thrown in the skip?
There are plenty of Haro's and skyways that have survived but why no CCs ?
I'd love to build one up someday ....

Anthony you are correct my friend ,

Ooh Benno that is lush stuff "wantit" "wantit"
The baby blues ones ( Sean and Darren's) are both pretty frickin cool too to be fair :4_17_5:
So what the story on such limited numbers if they sold really well?
How well do they ride ? :chin: ::)
-
Just searched for some more images ...
Benny Bloody Hill on a CC!!
How cool is that !
-
Ant, Barlow says his CC was his best ever bike, better than his HARO's and his Trick Stars...

Dels one was sold to Kappy...then to me....then to lloydieboy who still has it as far as I am aware.
I lost the pics of when I had it built when my last computer crashed...gutted as it was lovely. I will retrieve them as soon as I get round to it.
To answer the question Ant, I think the reason they are so rare now is that they were very prone to breaking, coupled with the fact they were only made for a year or so. I wish I still had mine........
Oh,and they ride great...19" TT iirc ,quite roomy :daumenhoch:
-
so few left as they were very weak around seatpost section . i remember a shop in kingston used to sell them for 50 quid ,hardly anyone bought them due to the seatpost issue . one frame i loved to own but never found one at decent price
-
I've got one of the 4130 Pro-Lite framesets somewhere, supposedly even rarer than the CC one.
-
I did have an original chrome one can't find any pictures of it though.

Here's my 1985 CC PRO-LITE. I've had since buying it new in 85 for £65. It's got to be one of the best chrome survivors in the UK. It comes with it's original decals as well. The picture's don't show the chrome as good as in the flesh. It's also got a set of Lavender Skyways that I bought at roughly the same time from Halfords. Hope you like. :daumenhoch:

I have to say that that is probably one of the nicest bikes i've seen on here :coolsmiley:.
Buz :daumenhoch:
-
Cheers Buz/Deeman. Glad you like it. :) I nearly sold this last year because I'd lost interest in the scene, what with prices so high to build other bikes and the fact that I didn't have any room in my man cave to put them ;D I've descided to try and build some low budget Huffy Pro Thunder bikes which was my first BMX back in 1981. Then i'll try and make some room in the loft to display them, if the other half lets me. >:D

There's some amazing examples out there after all... Thanks for posting "wantit" :4_17_5: :smitten:

From memory, the two brothers that started Prolite were from Zimbabwe and that's the same reason that it abruptly ended too. The frames were made by the same company that made Rebel in Asia. I have an image of me holding the prototype frame set somewhere. Ill dig it out with some other info I know I have banked up.

Yes. Freewheeler leisure. I interviewed Pete Hawkins several times for the last Haro book and he was heavily involved with the Prolite scenario. I would need to listen back to the audio to say more.
