OK guys & gals, after recent committee meeting we have a race series lined up through the winter months. Seven dates with your best FIVE results counting towards the overall placings. Because we could lose meetings due to the weather please keep an eye on this thread for updates. The racing will be along the lines of the Thursday night meetings with the accent on FUN rather than out and out competition but you know you want to win so you'll be riding flat out anyway!!
Race Dates are:
Saturday 23rd September
Saturday 21st October
Saturday 18th November
Saturday 16th December
Saturday 20th January
Saturday 17th February
Saturday 17th March
Race Registration : 13:00 - 13:30
Racing from 14:00hrs
Race Classes: (four classes only)
7 and Under
8 - 10 year olds
11 - 14 year olds
15 +
RACE AGE TO BE BASED ON YOUR AGE IN 2007, ie. if your birthday is 23rd June and you are currently 10 then your RACE AGE for the Series is 11.
Race Fees are: Members £1 and non-members £2
Trophies will be awarded to top three in each class based on points from BEST FIVE ROUNDS. Medallions to all riders completing FIVE rounds.
One "Rider of the Day" trophy to be handed out at each round to the rider, who in the opinion of the judges has out in the best effort during the meeting, not necessarily the person who wins races.
Any questions?? Or have I covered everything!!

Oooh this sounds good. Daggers is a proper track. Dont worry about an old gits class just get ya arse down there, plenty of oldies already go and normally have enough for a couple of gates.
-
:tickedoff: OH go on then , I would love to take out the Race inc out again !! it means I might have to wash it though, after the dust from from MK. oh well. :D :D
-
I'd love to run a proper old school race every month.
As long as we get enough interest it's a definite goer! (Looks like we have enough already! yeehaw!)
Get out your old metal - give it a polish - then a thorough thrashing!
You know you wanna!
-
you know it makes sense
:daumenhoch:
-
It just has to be done, I hope you got paramedics and oxeygen on site.... :daumenhoch:
-
You lot are soooooo sad for (a) wanting to get your venerable old steeds dirty and (b) wanting to destroy yourselves physically!! Maybe I'll give you all a sporting chance of glory by kitting up and riding the Hawk to make the numbers up - has to be done!! :D Humps
-
I'd be up for it :)
-
My sister might be up for it too better finish her bike eh

Wanted orphan red shimano rear hub to finish my sisters girly bike (got a set of pink hubs and spokes but the hubs weigh a ton and I just can't bring myself to do it to her, she's gonna kill me as it is she is deffo not a girly girl hehe)
-
Wooo Hoooo, got myself an old school frame & forks to ride in the winter series. So you can add me to the os gate. Just need to get the rest of the parts now, but am on the case so hope to be ready by round 2.

Kevin, it would be nice to have a full gate of eight but I'm leaving that side of things to one of our OS crusties on the committee. It will be great to have loadsa RAD folks there battling it out on our super track and remember these meetings are just for fun so we don't want any berm-warfare (it's not Hersden you know).
From responses here it would seem we could have quite a few riders but I know what you lot are like with your excuses, gardening, decorating, working, etc. so getting you all there on the same Saturday is the real difficulty!! Humps

Its like your in my head :LolLolLolLol:

I would say as long as we manage 4 OS rides then well run you a seperate gate. Any less than 4 then you'll be in the 15+ class.
But as Alan says these are Fun club meetings, not mega competative!!

Guys & gals, we have permission from the Council to run our meeting albeit without the start gate but it's definitely on. Let's show the filth that pinching gear from BMXers doesn't stop us having our fun. Your support will be appreciated. See you there. Humps
-
I will do my best, come on radsters lets show the East side some support :4_17_5:

Got my pass for the day
weathers supposed to be grey but dry - ish
sounds like a good day to race :daumenhoch:

Good to see a few old faces yesterday at 'nham but quite a few of those who said they'd turn out didn't. Was good for me to get out on my Cruiser again and to actually romp home ahead of a couple of old crusties (no names, but guys remember you've got at least 15 years on me!!) Humps
