Title: Polishing off blistered/flaking chrome.........can you?

I have a chrome DC seat clamp that was originally chrome finish,its blistering/flaking off......so my question is? can I polish it back/strip it off etc     as apart from that its a nice clamp :daumenhoch:

Think you will struggle to get all the chrome plate off it by polishing or sanding etc  , you need to get it professionally stripped and then you should be able to polish it up. Shouldn't cost you too much to get a seat clamp stripped  ;) :daumenhoch:

Any chromers will be able to strip chrome , i had a set of chrome hubs stripped at Leigh metal polishers . Not sure where your based .  :daumenhoch:

Depends who you use/how large the item is/and how quick you want it back.  I used a place near Oldham for stripping a few items - cost £10 to strip a seat post and a set of forks. Unfortunately it took them about 4 months to do it! I use Leigh Metal Polishers now - they're spot on  :4_17_5:

They could strip it and powder coat it mate.. fistblump
