So where do you all shop for your os bmx bargains in todays market place's?
Interested to know as this place seem's very slow on the sales front?
So is it ebay? Face-ache? abroad? or ?
-
There are no bargains to be had anymore Carl!!!
A lot of the parts for my Haro came from USA either ebay.com or bmxmuseum.
A few years ago most of the parts would probably have come off here but everyone seems to be selling on Fb these days ....or they are just not selling! ::)

Peoples sheds & garages. I know when they're out as they always post on facebook where they are.
-
Still stuff out there if you know where to look ;)

The secret :radbmxsmilie: inner circle
:teef:

I tend to get most the better priced items on bmxmuseum.com these days. I know a few people in the states who will post items onto me if the seller won't ship to the uk
-
My garage is currently full of a load of o/s tat you lot can have for sensible money if you ask :LolLolLolLol:

I think it's all luck and hard work theses days ...
Before FB Rad used to be THE place for a great deal ...
Radsters would both buy and sell items at great prices ... Radsters looked after their own and always wanted to beat the greed of Evil eBay :2gunsfiring_v1:
I often see the odd item at a reasonable price on FB or eBay but you've got to be vigilant and always ready to swoop ... On the other hand it's always something you no longer need or something you don't want on your next build ! : :LolLolLolLol:
I think it's very often 'who you know' to get certain rare parts these days ...
I guess dealings between mates is the only place to guarantee a good deal these days :daumenhoch:

Off you Carl... :LolLolLolLol:

I'm not on FB, but would be interested to know how someone goes about selling stuff?
Are there OS sites within FB, or is there a generic market place ?
------ sorry if I sound out of touch, but the whole FB thing does nothing for me, too easy for people to get info about you - but if it's taken RAD sellers away then it is a sad state of affairs.. Another nail in the OS / RAD sense of community IMHO
-
I'm just starting my first build and have bought stuff off here, the museum,eBay, and Facebook, although everything I've bought off Facebook has been local to me where I can go and collect.

I'm new to FB mate .. Rad is still the best place for BMX IMO.
You join OSBMX groups like Rad or Haro and you just post up what you want the items you want to sell for and add a few pictures.
I'd like to say I'm loyal to Rad and would always post things up for sale on here first. I'd even be prepared to sell a little cheaper to SSTs.
I wish others did the same and we'd get rad back to the way it was not so long ago.

I check the For Sale section on here every day! :daumenhoch: I also buy stuff from the States, usually because of the wider choice of parts and the fact that prices are generally cheaper there than elsewhere. Occasionally I also have a nibble on eBay, if I can be bothered to sift through the tat!
-
Buy 90% off here, still some great deals to be had, don't get anything from the states anymore, think ive bought half a dozen things from the states over the years.
-
Bought some things off here this very day! :daumenhoch:

FB has slowly killed the scene in my opinion.
Prices have really gone up since the FB groups started.
My last build ,a Haro FST has mostly been done, albeit unintentionally with repop parts as
A I couldn't find the parts I needed quickly enough
B the only way I could get mint and reasonably priced was buying repop.
I have 3 nice bikes now,but I think if I sell them,I will never build again as it's just too expensive,so I am hoarding them.
I am getting a new kick out of BMX this summer as I have bought a 26 inch Ripper that I am actually planning to ride,I can't see me building another oldschool....

What do you type in Facebook to get on the rad site and is there any other decent bmx sites?
-
2 reasons I believe that many don't post or shop on here anymore is:-
A. People post and disappear. You reply in the for sale post and the reply comes maybe days, weeks later, or not at all. Facebook is instant, as you can tag the seller and they will receive an email with the comment posted.
B. It's too laborious to take pictures, post to Photobucket (if it's working), wait for it to load, then post it here. The BMXmuseum has a quick picture posting thingy. You just click the 'select images to upload', pick your pictures, and add. It's quick and simple, as long as the pictures do not exceed a certain size.
Yes there is the Tapatalk app that you can do it with. Yes Dan will use it all the time. I personally don't want the app on my phone, and it takes a while to work it out before you can post with it properly. Facebook, and now the Museum, are pretty much instant picture posting, which is a huge benefit to most people with the busy schedules in our lives.
As for selling, things are not really moving regardless of where you look unless it's dirt cheap, mint, and sought after. The run of the mill stuff will just sit and stagnate, unfortunately.
