Title: 84 Pro Class ?
Post by: Scottlox on May 31, 2016, 02:17 PM
Hey guys,
I'm looking at buying this Pro Class but I need to be sure it's not a Supergoose.
I'm concerned about the machining inside the BB as it doesn't appear to be as deep as you usually see. Serial number: D4001366
Any help would be awesome.

The only safe way to tell is the weight. However in the three i've owned, the rear drop-outs were paper thin so get  a pic of them close up and we should be able to sort it out.

I don't think the Supergoose had a machined BB either but could be wrong as i've only ever owned a couple and don't recall either way.

Edit:

Just had a better look at the pics and the drop-outs look right so i'm gonna go 99% sure it's a Pro-Class :daumenhoch:

Everything on this frame is pointing to it being a pro class. It's just the BB I'm confused about.
Although it's machined it doesn't seem to be wide enough to accomodate the cups as I've seen on others. First pic is of a pro class BB and the second is a Supergoose.
The frame I'm looking at has the thin dropouts, the bigger size hole in the forks the thinner walled BB shell but I'm stumped on the width of the machining.

When you compare the frame I'm looking at the machining matches the Supergoose BB but everything else is pro class. I'm lost.
Is it a pro class with Supergoose machining or is it a Supergoose with pro class features.
Here's another look at the BB. You can see it has the thinner shell.
