Just got a frame I've been after for a long time but unfortunately it has a seat post stuck in it, to top it off the last owner has (for some reason) cut the seat post flush to the seat tube >:(
Any ideas on how to remove it would be much appreciated as I'm all out of ideas
Cheers fellas..

Drill the seat post out gradually
-
I tihink that is the only option as I'm never gonna get a good bite on it now, thanks dude.

Is it a a steel post in a steel frame?
-
It's an alloy post in a steel frame
-
I'm sure there's a "how to..." thread but an alloy post can be disolved with acid that won't touch the steel frame.
Not got time to search but this is definitely the way forward unless you have access to a machine shop and actually less risky of damaging the frame.
However if you need the tube extending afterwards you might just be better off getting it replaced so Phil Sawzall on here is your man. The guy is a legend with a welder :coolsmiley:
EDIT:
Here you go, I just typed in "stuck alloy post" in the search function and ta-da, a load of threads with the answer.

Try this too.

caustic works great but it's nasty stuff and if its a thick post it can take a while. It can also have a "welding" effect so once you start you have to see it through

Think I'm going to give Phil a shout as there's a few other bits I'd like to get sorted on the frame, thanks for the shout well appreciated, I'd make a right mess with the acid route :daumenhoch:
