Title: Your favorit brake pads???
Post by: Andyboy77 on July 07, 2016, 03:27 PM
Hi everybody!

Currently I'm using ODYSSEY SLIM BY FOUR-pads (orange/beige-coloured) with my Arayas. I like them, but there might be some better ones out there. As I will need some brake-pads soon, I thought it might be a clever idea to ask what your favorit brake pads are.

What do you prefer for Mag- or Tuff-style, respectively for Araya-like wheels?

Fine regards!  :coolsmiley:
Andy

Anything clear. Not arsed about the noise, just want to stop in less than 100 yards  :LolLolLolLol:

not skyway pro pad copies!

they look great but squeak like FOOOK and have the added benefit of being able to only very marginally slow you down  (scary if you live on a big hill like I do). I have a pair on the Curtis that lasted a day in London and are now pretty much worn completely down. I honestly think I'd be better off next time using wax crayons :D

On the plus side I didn't pay for them, so not gonna complain :teef:

:LolLolLolLol:   That's definitely an option if a parachute feels uncomfortable to you.

Yes, instant stopping, would be a nice feature!
My Odyssey-pads squeak like crazy, but that doesn't bother ME at all. I have a bike-bell for free  :D

Kool stop in grey or red compound. Last a long time and work perfectly.

A few days back one of my front-brake pads turned into a ball of rubber. I've never seen anything like this before. Because there weren't any os-pads available straightaway, I decided to go for some modern brake pads (Rubber dubber  ??? ).
They are clear pads and they squeak phenomenal!

I don't know yet if they are my favorits, but ...Holy Cow! ...these things are aggressive! I hope my beloved bike can handle these forces on the long run!

So, if someone is interested in stopping immediately, give them a try.  :daumenhoch:

Maybe a bit late but I use Eclat Force pads and you can get them with a female bolt,  clear with anodised metal inside.

:daumenhoch: I could find them at a webshop in Germany. I'll give 'em a try, after I've used up the accidentally delivered 4-pairs of rubber dubbers.  :coolsmiley:  They stop very good too, but are pretty loud aswell.
