What a great score mate, what's your plans with it?
It looks a great survivor. :coolsmiley:
-
A good clean up for now i reckon then see where we go from there :daumenhoch:
-
I forgot to ask about the bag ???
-
Top work mate ... Great survivor ..some nice parts on that baby :4_17_5:
-
That is wicked! :4_17_5:
Pedals in the bag?
-
Yes pedals in the bag a pair of shimano dx,s
Any good ideas for the resto not shure wich way to go forward with this :daumenhoch:
-
Ass you can see it has a rear mx diacomp calliper
Alloy but its like it has a chrome coting over it can this be stripped so it can be polished up nice because its flaking a bit
Its not like anodised more like chrome has any of you guys come across this and actually refurbed one :daumenhoch:
-
Ho and the front calliper is a mx meteor lite did they come with these on
-
Cracking score bud, bet it'll clean up real nice too fistblump
-
I wouldnt do a lot to it, strip down ,rebuild & grease up.
Nice survivor all day long, doenst look like it needs a lot ? ... grips, new chain ring, may be a chain.
I wouldnt even clean it but thats just me.... id leave the caliper with pitting chrome 'patina' .
They were f&f sets so where all built different , yeah the front caliper aint great but who cares...in time stick a d/c one if you really want to.
-
Yes gona put a dc on the front look has it i have one
Yes got some new tyres and grips and got a pro neck chain ring for it and new cables all nos survivor clean parts then see how it goes from there wether to mint it right up
-
:4_17_5: nice one
-
Great find :daumenhoch:
I wouldn't go too mad on restoring it, it's a lovely survivor as it is :daumenhoch:
-
It's always really tempting to clean these survivors up but never 'throw the baby out with the bath water' as my Nan used to say ... These things are only original once .. A cliche but if you start kindling too much it's originally will be lost forever ...
-
I now what you mean yes you can go to far
Just going to clean her up put the parts on that need to be on i
I reckon a good fettling this come out nice but not change her at all :daumenhoch:
-
Lovely that. 8) Agree with everyone else strip down, clean up and put back together. :coolsmiley: Only part I would change is the front brake. :daumenhoch:
-
Yes i have got front break just its red but can easliy bet stripped
Would you keep the bars or change for haro vectors reissue ones ? :daumenhoch:
-

Keep the CW's unless you could get OG Vectors in the same survivor condition.
Reissue Vectors or any reissue parts would kill the look of this as they will probably be close to mint.
It would be like Mary Berry getting a tit job. "nono"
-
Your right pal
Top advice :daumenhoch:
-
Whys grips would you recommend for the haro ? :daumenhoch:
-
Whys grips would you recommend for the haro ? :daumenhoch:
Oakleys would probably be the best ,but trying to find them in the correct condition will be hard.
Id just go with some ames, they are cheap enough and grips are a 2 min job to change.

Not shure on the blue grips
