Ok so I got the frame and forks now the paintwork is not as good as I would have liked so am going to have to re paint/powder it, not decided the best plan of action yet. Have been told by numerous people on here that it's a bitch to match 100percent but as close as damnit will do. My hp 48s are going to the chromer tomorrow for a new shiny coating, and I need to get the decals off the bike to send to del, any tips on getting these off in one piece as they look like they are going to be a pain in the #*%. Pics of frame and forks below. Will keep progress of build updated regularly, any advice welcome guys hope you enjoy the build as much as I'm going to 👍 [attachment=1]

Got the frame back from paint today they done a cracking job matching the paint just waiting for forks and handlebars at sbd being powder coated now and for stickers to be done 👍

...shame shame shame! .... oh well, full works it is then. So far so good, must admit, looks a match
Is that a Lego Technik Porsche GT or what ? thing looks mental 8)
-
Yeah it's a lego Porsche it's awesome it has working gears as well it's pretty sweet. As for the frame I had it done by a guy in Manchester at a place called Atlantic boulevard all the guy does is restoring (painting) old bike frames, if anyone is interested I will post his contact details up on here. His shop is full of mainly old road bikes from the 70s that he does for people.
-
...awesome the colour, too :smitten:
-
should have left this as a survivor :-\
-
Too late for that, it looked better in the picture as well.

How much did they charge for painting the frame Danny ?

Atlantic boulevard charged me £200 mate. They done a great job in my humble opinion. fistblump fistblump

Wow  They're from Bury (just down the road from me) so thought I'd try em if they weren't too expensive but i think I'll stick with SBD. Cheers mate. :daumenhoch:

Yeah I would have liked Dan to do my frame but he cannot match the paint in powder unfortunately :(

Couldn't resist putting a few bits on today. Put the cups in for the headset and bottom bracket, the race for the headset was a complete bitch to fit tried for over an hour before giving in and taking the forks to a shop for them to do it, still took the guy 15 min even with the proper tools it was proper tight. I finally got a fusion disk yesterday that should be here tomorrow with a bit of luck. Put the ACS BOA front and real calipers on. That's all for now hope you like it even if it's not OG :D

Looking good. Thanks for taking the time to put a build thread and photos up :4_17_5:

Quick update for anyone interested. I finally found a fusion disk which I'm super pleased about 🎉😀 also I have a NOS haro seat on the way and a NOS haro fusion stem on the way 👍 Awesome. Still waiting for stickers at the mo from del he got rid of his old ones on file but has been kind enough as to do them all over again for me, the guy is a legend. Other than that I'm now trying to find a 1inch odyssey gyro either NOS or proper mint but it seems to be quite a hard thing to find even used ones are not showing their faces 😢. Any help with this would be great (fingers crossed) will post some more pics next week.

Can I ask where you got your Haro crank?
-
... having just read your thread through you are going to have a right laugh taking the headset cups out again to get the gyro cups in :P

I got the crank off of the bay mate about 6 weeks ago now. Cheers for looking for a gyro for me 👍
-
Would deffo agree with them being one of the best looking bikes from th 90's. I was thinking of going chrome on the front like that pic of yours ed but decided on keeping it black, I can't wait for it to all be together to see what she looks like.
