Hey guys,
New to the forum.
Just picked up a used Mongoose Bmx as I want to get back into the sport.
Need some advice if what I bought is suitable for street and park usage
It's a 08/09 Mongoose Fraction in pretty good nic. Could anyone advise on this bike and whether the components are good/decent quality. Feels a bit heavy?
Thanks for your time!

Looks ok for what it is :daumenhoch: it has a few heavy components on it hence the weight, get the grips back up the bars & wack some bar-ends in there before you use it though!

@fugazi thanks for the reply!
Will be sorting out the grips as well as giving it a good clean this weekend. Hope I can find some bar ends to fit
Sorry for the lack of knowledge but what would the heavy components be? And would you recommend me changing them or anything else on the bike to make it easier to use?

handlebars and forks tended to be heavier on bikes from this era ,
but tbh i'd ride it as is for a bit , i'ts a pretty well spec'd bike for the year ,and looks to be all original to the bike ,
see how you get on with riding again first , a strip down and service would be a good start

Yep, what Jim said mate. Get it greased and tightened up then ride it for a bit before you spend any money on it. Whatever you change eventually, keep the original part so you can sell it as original and transfer the lighter bits onto your new bike....
And there will be another. ...... like the changing of the tides, it' gonna happen 😅😆

Cheers guys,
Got it greased, cleaned, tightened and weighed (13.5kg)
Think I need some new pedals as the primo tenderisers hurt like hell!
