Title: Buying from PlanetBmx question
Post by: Taipan on January 29, 2017, 03:30 PM
Anyone recently bought from them? did you receive the items quickly? Is it only via ebay you can buy from them? did you pay customs tax etc on your purchase when it arrived? sorry for all the questions but I need to know lol  ;) :daumenhoch:

Not bought from them in a while, but i found their service to be slow and communication even slower. I'd advise to buy the items via their ebay account if their isn't any/much difference in price. You'll have more clout if you need to open a case or get a refund. They won't want negative feedback

I emailed them about Skyway front axle kits and got an auto reply saying my question would be answered and never heard a thing back at all. Just got one from a UK supplier so their loss

Based on passed experience communication is poor and you'll almost certainly be hit with charges.

If your buying via Ebay you will get customs charges applied

Delivery is slow but I think thats down to customs and the shipping methods (cheapest possible to keep costs down)

so all fees are included in the price you pay first and that's it?

Depends how Ed (owner of Planet) has set up the listing

Not sure if it covers all the fee's as parcel force like to have an extra bite of the cherry just to tell you there's a parcel in customs  :uglystupid2:

It use to be about £20 - £25 for the letter/handling fees

Fees are added to the total cost (cost of item and shipping) based on declared value or value insured for.

Even if you buy from Ed direct I'd be 99% sure you'd get hit with the charges as he fully insures items sent so if he marks a low value you still get hammered.

I know this from dealing with Ed.
