Title: Gt pro performer build
Post by: P8kka on February 19, 2017, 09:55 PM
Hi, could anyone help out please. I'm restoring a Gt pro performer and have used a mirage lay back seat post that just doesn't look right at all. Everything else is pretty much as the original bike but I can't find a decent post at all. Did the original have a renthal one, or if not, what was fitted...?

Thanks

What year is the Performer? Most of them had GT seatposts!  :daumenhoch:

It's an 85. I've done it as a foila replica. Looks great except the awful post. The angle just ain't right at all. I'll have a look on e-bay.

Thanks for the help 👍

I know what you mean, the bend is a bit nasty! Eddie definitely rode GT layback posts. bmxmuseum.com is a good place to find stuff like that or put up  wanted ad here in the appropriate section, someone will probably have one lying around.
Put some pics up...would love to see the bike. you will need photobucket or simlilar account. :daumenhoch:
