Title: gt tour 2 advice on bottom bracket

Getting to grips with my first project  i don't know anything about bottom brackets really  ..
Would i be right in thinking when shopping for a new bottom bracket its a USA size / fit ?

Those Tour 2's are cool! Both of those are for a 3 piece crank, you need a 1 piece usa b/b  :daumenhoch:
Can't you clean & reuse the one you have?

Most of them parts look re-useable. There's plenty of restoration threads on here to point you in the right direction or just ask.  :daumenhoch:

I am looking now to see how much to get the forks sand blasted and sprayed,as for bottom bracket it feels a bit wobbly,not had chance to take it apart yet.
I was assuming as it had sat for many years most of that half out doors it would have perished some how so just get new.

The teeth on look not in great nick at a glance ill have another look.its on boot of car keeping warm and dry need to make a nice bed for it in my shed while i get bits

the chrome on these gt's is usually not bad quality n the rust on yours looks to be mostly surface ,if you want to keep the chrome i would give them an oxallic acid bath before having them blasted , look in the tech section for posts on this , worth the few quid for the oxy just to see how bad the chrome is , you can put all the metal parts in too to clean them up .I had the Voelker Metal Issue version of this, was a real beast  :daumenhoch:
