Fella's,
Gonna make a start on stripping the paint off some white skinny ukais tomorrow (so I can polish them up before building) and was wondering if anyone has any tips before I start. I have got some stripper from Wilkos which I've been told will do the job on these rims...
Cheers in advance,
Neil

Cheers fella, have used the oven cleaner technique before on a anno stem. :daumenhoch:
-
Whack the stripper on, then bung em in a bin bag or something Neil, stops the stuff evaporating before it melts the paint.....

I tried some wilko stuff on some DX
It was shite
Eventually used a blob of synstrip & it was off in seconds
-
Are they painted or annodised ?
-
Defo painted (white)
-
Anodised white can't be done as far as I know

Paint and gasket remover meant to be good stuff... maybe worth a try if the wilko stuff's shite. :daumenhoch:

This stuff works well:

Used it a couple of times with great effect :daumenhoch:

ive always used NITRO-MORS on every frame/forks/bars ive repainted, its works a treat but burns your skin if don't wear gloves >:D the normal version in the green tin works fine, but I think theres also a stronger/industrial version as well ;) ;) ;) ;)

The Wilkos stuff seems to be doing a good job so far, couple of coats an hour apart and its lifting the paint straight off 😎
