Title: gyro
Post by: adeshere on September 14, 2006, 02:01 PM
We'll i have just bought a NOS upper gyro cable from alansbmx as i can't find a new type that is long enough.

First i noticed that the balls on this cable are larger and then noticed that the thread is smaller.

I had an old gyro cable so thought i'd try and melt the ball off with a blow torch and then see if i could then melt it back on using a mould ,ok dent in a block of wood. I have always wanted to try this ...dont !! it doesnt work.

So, does anyone have a spare old type gyro top plate ?

you should be able to change the screw in adjusters mate
as i did that on me master
have they got a slot cut in em
if so take nut off then swap em over
plus it should have come with spare adjusters

The new gyro cables come with the different ends and are slotted.

The original 80's cables are a smaller thread and are not slotted.

I could not get a red long upper cable so i had to geta white 80's gyro cable.

If someone had a spare top bracket off of a old gyro i could use that.  Otherwise, i will have to cut them off
