What do we know about our mid 80s heros now?
Does anyone still now any of these guys and what they are upto now?

used to see him in storm at derby in the late 90's rippin it up
i think he could be involved with the olympic bmx team now?

Ignore that link now. I quit! I'm going back into Aerospace industry.
I was riding regularly until I bust my knee last Xmas and Storm skatepark closed. Just trying to get my arse back onto my bike, but not feeling much motivation to be honest.
I raced last year in Masters and won all races I entered except one, where I fell off all on my own with a massive lead!
I ended up the Masters 2005 British Champ.
I was gonna race again this year but wasn't allowed with that job ^^^^^^. If I can get my arse into gear through winter then I might race again next year.
What I really need is a local indoor skatepark again. It was handy through winter and it kept me on my bike. Not sure how I'm gonna manage this winter.
Doing sprints up the street to train for racing aint really my thing. No skills learnt as far as I'm concerned. :LolLolLolLol:

SJN is a ice hockey player and plays for England I believe.
Wayne is now a Pro boxer. I speak, text or mail him now and then. Showed his face at Bournemouth meet last year. Looking fit & healthy. Hopefully gonna get together with him soon.
Gary has had a bad time over the last few years after his dad died. He's in and out of hospital with some problems. He came to the meet in Bournemouth last year. Tried to stay in touch but he wasn't too well the last time I spoke to him.

I suppose if I'm honest it wasn't a job I felt I could do. I quickly realised that I hate being away from my family. I have a 2 yr old daughter now (I miss her even after a day out!) and me & Lucy have another on the way.
The job, through summer, was away abroad every other week for a week at a time and even when back in the UK you're expected to be chasing around after riders all over the country. It was a 2hr drive to the office! :shocked:
I didn't feel I could give up that much time for my family. I love BMX but I aint that committed. :LolLolLolLol:
It didn't help speaking to others who worked there that they have about 3 days off a year. One's missus had had an affair he was away that much and another who told me he never sees his kids and his house is falling to bits! :crazy2: :idiot2:

Sounds like a very demanding and onerous job :shocked:
I find it difficult to commit to getting off my arse, let alone driving 2 hours to get to work. :idiot2:

Tim March either manages or owns some bike mags doesn't he? I've been in contact with him to do a piece for the site I write for www.beinghunted.com, so will post the link when I do it.

Tim is advertising manager for Ride Magazine, Document Skateboard Mag, Dirt & (I think) now does some for Dig too.
They all fall under the 4130 house of mags.
Still loves his BMX and is still controversial!! Well he is on www.bmxtalk.com anyway!
