Title: Replacement BB and Spindle for Redline 400
Post by: Swivel on September 27, 2017, 11:16 AM
Hi all. I need something for a show bike, so not too bothered if its 100% right as it will be hidden away with a BB bottom anyway.

So does anyone know of a cheap BB and Spindle I can use which is sold on EBAY that I can use?

Thanks

Matt  :daumenhoch:

Matt I think Shwinn ones are 28tpi - do a search on US eBay for one?

Yep had a look on US Ebay and cannot see much... must be something for sale over here on the UK Ebay?

the square taper spindle on a 400 crank is slightly bigger than a regular square taper spindle. the one in your link would need to be shimmed for the cranks to be tightened. it will work though, as i did the exact same thing until i was able to get an original axle. you just need to cut up an empty coke tin and wrap it round the flats on the tapered part.
