Title: New to the site
Post by: sleag40 on October 27, 2017, 07:53 PM
How do! I recently dug out my Rickman Freestyler (been in the garage/shed for 18 years!) after realising my ruined right leg could now bend enough to ride it again. :D  The Rickman was bought in the late 90s for pennies when a shop near Old Trafford closed down, it was so cheap that I bought it even though I had no want or need of the thing. I suppose that it made me feel better about selling my '82 mongoose back in 1988!
A quick trawl of the internet looking for parts to restore it led me here - I intend to do a build thread on it if anyone's interested?
As soon as I can get my head round resizing images, I'll throw some pics up. I could do with a little help with identifying what some of the parts are - I'm pretty sure most of it is generic crap though.
Plans are underway to replace most of it other than the frame, forks and crank - hopefully be getting stuck in soon. 8)

Many thanks for the welcomes peeps! Think I've cracked the pictures thing - bit of a technospaz I'm afraid.

That pic is pretty poor - must try harder!  ::)

Does anyone have any idea if these bars may be of use to anyone? I intend to fit a Suntour stem and I'm on the lookout for proper Rickman bars.  The wheels and brakes are obviously copies, and will be binned. The  Sugino crank and Aeroyal seat are in a good condition, so can stay. Parts collection begins today!

Going off something I was reading the other week them bars look like originals so definitely worth a bob or two. Rickman bars are very hard to find so I'd be tempted to offer them up for trade. You may get a few bob for yours now but then spend years looking for Rickmans.
As for the other parts... don't bin any of em mate. They'll be of use to someone.  :daumenhoch:

Hi, and a big welcome to  :radbmxsmilie:. The raddest forum in the universe  :)

Cheers!

A little research on those bars suggests that someone sold some the same as mine on eBay earlier this year for 250 queenheads!

There is a thread on bmxmuseum.com in which someone is adamant that the bars in the eBay ad are fake.

I'm still none the wiser! :-\
