Hi guys, can any of you help id a mongoose frame please. The dropouts and forks look correct for a 1981 to me but what about the hole in the box section behind the bottom bracket? Should this be there at all or only on certain models or has it been drilled. Is this a proper mongoose or is it an Ammaco? You can't really see how good the welds are through the spray bomb paint job. HELP! I would like to know before importing from the states. I will love to hear your thoughts and facts. Thanks for reading My first post. :bow:g

Thanks, it’s listed as a motomag and after some more digging I believe it is. Just wanted someone to confirm before buying. I’ll check back later.

The question about the hole has been answered in your other thread, it is for a kickstand and features on a lot of imported frames.
However, it is not a Motomag as it is a mk2 frame with the revised rear drop-outs. It is just simply a Mongoose. At the very end of the run of these in 1983 that my became known as Californian but either way it has chromo main tubes but a hi-tensile rear end
As said on your other thread, get a wanted ad up for a UK based one as the import duty will surprise you just when you thought you had a bargain
Spen
Ps - i taught Bobafett all he knows..... :LolLolLolLol:

Thank you for the advice. It was working out at £160 for f&f and a few other bits, £270 all in. Now the seller is splitting the bundle and wants £200 for just the f&f. LOL. I think I will leave it. I’ll be posting a wanted add soon. Let’s hope there’s a few knocking about Thanks again.
