Title: MK18 Camping, Parking and Health & Safety
Post by: dancetothedrummersbeat on July 30, 2018, 11:02 PM
With MK just a week away, please take a moment to look at the site plan showing the parking areas, fire points and areas that need to be kept clear for emergency vehicle access.

[attachment=1]

For those people that are arriving but are NOT staying overnight, the plan in previous years has been for you to park on the grass verge opposite the helipad. This gives you easier access to exit the site. For those camping overnight, parking/camping will be in the helipad and the adjacent field.  Marshals will direct you to the relevant parking area. These people are there for your benefit and safety. Please listen to them, follow their instructions and co-operate.

Here's a reminder of site rules etc - we'll be handing out an info sheet with this and also event timings along with your wristbands

FIRST AID
The first aid area is well signposted and available at all times, but if you need them in a hurry you can call them on 07850 015341
FIRE SAFETY
No fires permitted & BBQs must be kept off the grass to avoid scorching it, we need to keep everyone safe and ensure that we are allowed to return again. Assembly point in case of emergency is by the ramps, if fire-fighting equipment is needed it can be found in the main show tent and camping areas. Fire points are at the end of each row and if you need to raise the alarm please use the whistles provided.
RUBBISH
Place ALL your rubbish in the skips please, don’t leave it for someone else to pick up. Remember that we are very privileged to be MK BMX’s guests, so let's leave their home how we found it - clean and tidy!

Thank you for your assistance  :daumenhoch:

What about Chinese lanterns?

Remember that year when someone sent a load of those up and they blew right into the trees.

many Events are being cancelled because of this so we have had to issue the rules on fires and BBQs
please do not think its OK . You will be removed from site if you do not listen
NO FIRES NO BBQs unless they are well off the ground and if you are having a BBQ please bring means of putting it out afterwards
i saw 2 fire this weekend at campsites that had both been caused by discarded  BBQs that were still alight

Hi, I m not sure if I am camping or going to rough it in the Holiday inn ( yes it still has rooms ), I do know  plan the odd beer during the day  so I wont be driving, so do many people leave cars/vans on site and then walk/ride back to the hotel?

My son is coming with me and I am  not sure if many families camp over the weekend.

It's easier to leave your car at the hotel and ride to the site :daumenhoch:
