Spotted this frame on a Japanese auction site yesterday - a "NOS" Bridgestone Crossfire. About 220 quid so a bit on the steep side but I've been after a looptail for a while and there are definitely not many of these about (there's only one on the Museum and that's chrome), so I'm thinking about it even though I'm having a break from old school builds. ::)

Looks well made, not seen one before? maybe a Rad member can shed some light on them? do you know the TT length fella?
-
nice find :daumenhoch:
wondering wtf a 'super mechanism' is though ;D
-
Looks rad Mick.....You need to buy it just for the super mechanism!! :daumenhoch:

Yea.... liking that a lot :daumenhoch:

Yeah. Like that . :daumenhoch: nice find :4_17_5:

More pics below. Yeah, it's tempting despite obviously not being new old stock, if the washer marks on the dropouts are anything to go by. Actually, buying from a Japanese auction site is one of the things that's putting me off, having been stung before by a dodgy seller when buying a snowboard. It's bad enough on ebay when I'm using my own language but using Japanese makes life so much more difficult, especially if things go tits up! :2gunsfiring_v1:

Liking that a lot, not sure i'd have the balls to buy off a japanese site, but good luck if you go for it! :daumenhoch:

Surely if you pay by Paypal it's covered? Go for it....i wonder if Bridgestone did/ do bike tyres?? :-\

Go get it dude and give it some love. It’ll be well made. Can’t remember for sure but maybe Ishiwata tubes, could be Tange TRX forks as well ;)

Looking forward to seeing this, love something a bit different :daumenhoch:

Have recently been distracted by another new school race rig but this ol' gal is still for sale and has now been reduced to about 175 quid plus shipping. May have to contact the seller! :coolsmiley:
Paul, where did you find/read that info? I have found spec sheets for the 1982 Mk-1 and Mk-11 bikes (which did indeed have Tange forks) but nothing yet for the Crossfire.

It was just something dragged out of the dusty old memory bank linking Bridgestone and Ishiwata, I could well be wrong. What’s the production year and TT length on it? If I was building again I’d be tempted same as you ;)

Well that white and red Bridgestone is long gone but the same seller recently listed a stablemate! I only spotted it yesterday, then it was reduced last night, then someone snagged it today for 200 quid plus the shipping. Not me, I hasten to add. Nice-looking loopy though! :daumenhoch:
