Title: Ok, one more 70s built
Post by: reilley1 on September 24, 2006, 09:07 PM
A long long time ago I got a Yamaha Moto Bike for X-mas

Recently, a friend gave me this:

Couldn't possibly leave it like that.

Thanks to Ben Joy for the number plate

Great restoration.

You can tell that rear coaster hub was built to last!

The whole bike looks very durable - rims, spokes, forks, frame.

Thanks all

In case you anyone is wondering, It's a drum brake with a freewheel.  I found it in some pile of wheels and thought it would look cool on a some 70s build.

I have ridden it and even jumped it, don't know how we did it.  Brought back a memory of grade school when I got into a jumping contest with some kid who hated me named Tom Woodrup.  After I beat him (Apparently ole Tom was a lousy jumper) we became pretty good friends

thanks for the tip on the tires by the way.

Don't have the square plate or numbers for the # 55. I couldn't let an original plate with Yamaha decals go to waste. Besides, mine was an A model and eventually I'll get one that is all original

I got some e-mail on the stand.  It is a home made painted  PVC one.  Total cost around $5.00
