Title: Snafu Chunk Sprocket date
Post by: Chilli Rinse on December 13, 2022, 09:16 PM
Hi guys,

Does anyone know when the Snafu Chunk 44t sprocket hit the market ? I read the company was founded in 1998 but have no idea if this was an early product or more recent. Any help dating it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks  fistblump

I found a thread that mentions the Chunk on bikeforums.net dated 2004. Does that ring a bell with anyone ?

Cheers

The logo looks about right for then. TBH it won't have been much later, if any, because it's high tooth and heavy.

I bought a NOS package for my STA and...

The logo is the same, and I reckon those are from around the same time frame. Which matters, because my STA is an 01.

Actually the seat clamp package says 2001. So it is probably earlier than 05. It literally looks like part of the same range to me dude. I also have a silver stem exactly the same that was on a 01 Huffy I bought. Not stock, but bought with the bike (and a Metal sprocket I sold for more than I paid for the whole bike).

Nice one, thanks dude. It will be going on my 2001 Hellcat so 2001 onwards is bang on for the build. I took a gamble on it and paid a score for nos with marks, it turned up yesterday from Belfast via Royal Mail in the pre Christmas madness and strike action. Sweet.

Thanks for the reply and Merry Christmas  🎄 fistblump
