I have seen the chrome MX200 but that is not cheap, or do you mean the MBK White Cross in Portugal ?

Good luck with the search for your Swan song frame set  fistblump

Sod all. Like literally sod all.

I have a set of very early Kink Empire forks I want to restore and I want to finish my STA but other than possibly repaint the Ruben frame that will be it.

Obviously the obligatory part upgrades may happen here and there if and when they come up but that will be it from me. Going to get rid of a few bikes too, the non critical ones.

I did yes. I have a feeling they were the rejects that Matty Barton had made and should not be for sale. Because at that price they are clearly not originals.

I still have about two sets of them left. Plus Nick threw in some more for me (where I got mine from) when I bought the fork.

The steerer had come loose, but Nick had Leroy repair them so I know they are totally kosher. Leroy does some killer work (he also does all of Matt Barton's repairs). They have never been repainted, but they are battered and pitted. All of the things I am good at sorting.

I had literally been waiting over  5 years to find a fork set to do it justice. Because the earlier Standards are so popular the bash forks now sell for mental money (over 200 notes) and besides that is really predictable. So I put the Mirra Pro 2017 fork on there for now as it was the only uncut fork I had.

The only issue (and what will make it into a long project) is the axle on that tank NOS wheel is 14mm. And no one in their right mind would cut a set of forks that are so utterly rare. Hand made in NY, original Kink gear. So, that means I need to remove the axle, vernier it, send it down to my friend who will then remove everything past the bearing faces, before putting it into his lathe and making it a 10mm female axle. That way the fork gets left untouched, apart from of course a full restoration and replacement decals.

I aim to cull this year. I would say at least half are going. There are 5 you would need to drag from my cold dead hands, and that STA is one of them.

Finishing this is also top priority.

The seat post needs cutting down about 150mm. The fat skinny chain ring is holding the chain too much (not for a BMX) so I need to file the fat teeth down to stop it binding. The headset needs a split washer. The tyres are crap so are getting replaced with these.

I want that one finished and dialled.

This site isn't finished man. A ton of people have stopped by to say that, yet still we plod on.

I arrived after the dust had settled from a large dramatic shit storm. I don't know what happened and nor do I care. There's FAR too much drama and egoes and shit in this hobby and there always has been. It's the same with anything really, it gets popular and you have a F ton of traffic but quantity will never beat quality.

If you enjoy it and do it for you then you won't stop. Simple as really. I've never done it for social reasons and I don't care what people think, nor am I looking for any sort of approval other than mine.

And I think you'll find that the die hards here who know who they are will tell you exactly the same thing. The Facebook fly by nights who have all vacated are better off on there. And are walking away in droves as their interest drops.

Is there any progress on the other builds mentioned ?

STA is finished as you'll know. The Pork is also finished barring a single decal. The Fatboy is close. I found a shadow chain and did all the work then realised I?d put the cranks and wheel on the wrong way around ffs. That bike doesn't want to be finished tbh, asshole lol.

I also need to cut the post down on it as well, so that will get done next.

Got a few upgrades for the dirt bike too, and of course the Eastern.

Still got this to build, been sat in bits since last Sept. The loss of  my Dad in Oct  2022 has really knocked me for six .My builds  have been Put  off  as he always loved assisting me with  the bearing press and applying the decals and  generally getting involved in old school BMX. I  will struggle to enjoy the builds with out him, but  now I need push myself to get it build for the Midlands old school BMX bash👍.

Memories to cherish forever dude.

I said goodbye to my uncle over christmas, who was the closest thing I have had to a father since mine died when I was 7. Just hold him in your heart, and don't forget to speak to him often. He will always be there.

Indeed. It is better to count blessings. I have a photo of those I have lost in the kitchen. Every morning when I make coffee I tell them I love them. It really helps, because it is like they are still here with me.

Lightly built up the Champion to see what she looks like. Swapped the rear Suzue hub for a Shimano coaster. The Shimano DX pedals are getting swapped for some og MKS BM10's. Still need to ream out the seat tube for the gold Race Inc post to fit and am waiting on an Izumi chain.
