what is it ,me mate recons its a mongoose but i dunno

My guess is a Mongoose Californian or Expert.
If you look on the seat-tube there appears to be a sticker, pity it's too hard to read in that photo.
Other possibilities would be Supergoose or Pro Class, but because of that sticker (if it is indeed a sticker, and not just a reflection or mud) then I'd assume one of the two above.

I'm not too up on prices, plus it depends a lot on condition.
The frame & forks might be really good condition, or they might not be. You want to know about breaks, dents, rust, damage to rear dropouts.
Do a search on here or ebay to see what Cali/Expert F&F are selling for.
The pedals *may* be Shimano DX which would be a nice find, or they may be copies - again I can't tell from the pic.
Simplex mag wheels and other parts won't be of great value.
Can't see the bars - are there any?
It's a complete bike (or almost if there are no bars), so what are you willing to pay for a rider?
On the other hand, you could start a Cali/Expert/etc restoration. But only the F&F look to be original for this.
I'll say what I would pay if I was after a rider:
If it is a Californian with excellent condition F&F then £75 for F&F, or £100 for the whole bike. If they're Shimanos then that's a bonus.
It's not going to be worth several hundred.
This is just my opinion, someone desperate for a Mongoose frame might go a bit higher, I've seen some generic part bikes go for a lot.
Sometimes the nostalgia factor can be triggered by a name or a certain part and that can greatly affect the price, depending on who's looking at the time.

Mint cali frame +£100
full bike +£175 - £500 one went for on ebay recently.
anyone agree?
I know my cali frame build up project is nearing £200 now.
And there is a minter in the forsale section for £300.

a cali frame on its own is worth about 60 quid
with forks make it a 1er tops
as for the shitty mag wheels, some people just wanted mags!!!

as for the bike in your pic, it could be a goose. hard to tell from the shady pic, but the rear drops look goosey
if it's a cali/expert then pay a 100ish
if it's got the THREE holes in the brake bridge then offer 150 ;) but pay up to 250 i guess!
that is if you are looking at buying it.
if you want to sell it, i'll give you a score for it ;)

its not just the mags its the burner cranks and chainring to some spoon has stripped a mag burner and stuck the bits on a possible super/proclass i reckon

Looking at the brake bridge, I know it is difficult to see, but it looks like one of the curved tube versions similar to this

Ruler I'm not saying the bridge in the picture is on a mongoose, but that from the little you can see of the bridge it looks like one of those arched tube ones similar to the picture, may just be the light (or my eyes) affecting how it looks.

its got a flat brake brigde with one hole
,hmm dropouts are a bit chewed up and one looks abit bent slightly
is this easy to repear

When I had my Californian, there was one time when I had the wheels off, and for some dumb reason I stood on the chainstays and did some backhops.
Just messing around while watching the TV or something...
Without thinking or realising, I'd bent out the lower rear dropouts by 90 degrees :-[
I bent them back with a pair of pliers, good as new (well, almost), just a little flaking of the chrome.
So the metal there is quite pliable ;D, and if there is any metal missing due to wheelnuts eating into the dropouts then it can be repaired by a welder.
They would either fill it in, or cut a part out then weld in a new piece of metal and grind it down to blend in. Would need a rechrome to hide the work of course.
