Hope to see as many radders there as possible, as well the regular EK crowd that can make it off their sick beds!

Will there be another High Jump contest for Matt to win??

And will Hersden's resident nutter Dean Wimble have something special for the KoD??
And can WolfyBMX stay on his bike??
Or will he just take it lying down??

If you've not been to Hersden then get your butt down there for another session of East Kent hospitality. Humps

very nice arron well done an excellent build be proud of this mate see ya sunday :daumenhoch: :Great_Britain:
-
Is it this sunday or next sunday
-
Next Sunday, the 8th.
-
yeah, i was thinkin is it this week. nice bike arron :)
-
Answer to Darren's question, it certainly looks like at least two full gates for Old Skool, but dont forget your Cruisers as well.
Will see some of you maybe at dunstable on Sunday (1st).
TK the Mic
-
Correction wont be at Dunstable this Sunday, Humps informs me on talk that Roonga may race at Hersden plus Humps himself maybe having go so there could three gates for Old Skool next Sunday
TK the MIC
-
yep, I hope to be there on the part built Leary Turbo. (I'll use spares to get it finished - wrong colours etc. but who cares??)
Also if I come I'll bring along the new Brew cruiser.
However - it will deffo be a very slow ride around the track - the wrist is just too stiff and painful to try going faster than a few miles per hour!
-
Humps is gonna be back in the saddle at the mighty Herseden eh? Should be a good day. :daumenhoch:
-
Steady on Muttley. What you mean to say is "if Humps is back in the saddle it'll be a good day for everyone else" cos they won't come last!! Last time out I didn't come last!! Just think of the embarrasment if I posted on here after Sunday that I beat guys young enough to be my sons!! You running pure OS or something newer?? Will I run the Hawk or my recently acquired DK?? Or will I find a thousand and one excuses to withdraw from the racing?? Roll on Sunday and we'll see. Humps
-
I'll be battling with Humps and Roonga for last as my wrist is still not very strong. I'll be riding round slowly on my cruiser. Very slowly.
-
Mr Humps i have my new OS ride wich is together but as yet not ridden......(oh gawd not again) :idiot2:
-
Old Skoolers group looking good this Sunday with around 10 - 12 entries judging by these threads, anyone out there wishing to race Cruiser as well is more than welcome to, I will keep a decent space in between cruiser and old skool races so you can get your breath back
TK the MIC
-
Yeah and we dont want any wimps not turning up coz of the weather either. :knuppel2:
-
On that note check out Humps mini video of Dunstable yesterday, and pray that isn't going to be us on Sunday.
TK the MIC
-
:-\ I'll be @ Hersden for the first time this year, but I'm not ready to race yet, as my knee is still swollen. I'll give James Rose a call & see if he can make it as well :idiot2:
-
the wolfy will be there providing his own style of old school hoping for good weather
-
On that note check out Humps mini video of Dunstable yesterday, and pray that isn't going to be us on Sunday.

some news just in :smiley6600:.
the local news paper will also be covering this event and every thing bmx :4_17_5:. they will be interviewing myself regarding the britts :Great_Britain:, the olympics and old school bmx etc and others involved in the hersden track etc etc. hopefully this will be good for the track and bmx in the area :Great_Britain:
-
better do me hair then.sorry phil,no offence mate
-
Just checked out the 5 day forecast for weather, and it gives dry and bright for the Canterbury area between now and Sunday inclusive, obviously its early days yet but fingers crossed.
TK the MIC
-
This is sounding like a really good meet, might have to round up the
South coast boys and make the long trip as my bike aint been out
since Harworth.
-
Kev, you and the guys would be more than welcome, especially after the washout from last weekend at Dunstable.

Lets see if we can get a shout in the rag for RADBMX :daumenhoch:
-
Will there be an old school cruiser race????
-
if you want
-
I'll be riding in the old school class on my Cruiser. ;D ;D ;D
-
Went up there tonight, Even after all the rain it's riding the best it ever has.
-
Nic968, if you want to ride your cruiser in the Old Skool group, thats fine, we are only a grass roots track and nobody will disqualify you for that, the fact you are a radbmxer qualifies you anyway.
TK the MIC
-
I might race my Kappa Starsky, Got to make a few amendments to it first but at least I'll then have 20inch wheels. I'll bring my cruiser as well if it's finished by then.
Last race of the year and it's looking to be a good one. :daumenhoch:
-
Looking at the posts on this thread, if all the riders show up that are on this thread, we could be close to our biggest Old Skool turnout, which was 16 riders . That was June last year.
Semi Finals anyone!!!!
TK the MIC
-
I've got the Leary Turbo ready to ride on. It's got all the wrong parts - but it was all I had laying around. Also the Brew is asking me every day to bring her out to a track, so hope to be riding old school and cruiser too.
Are there age groups in the cruiser class?
-
There's only the two classes Paul. Old and Stupid and Stupid and Old. I ride in both of these :LolLolLolLol:
-
cruiser is cruiser with no age limit.although i would pubicly shame any quick young buck who thought he could take a few easy wins by racing the old boys.got some medals for the racing sunday and of course the end of season presentation.please if you are racing wear your race gear as it will look cool in the pictures for the papers.
-
:daumenhoch: :4_17_5: :Great_Britain:
-
Trust Hersden hasn't had as much of the wet stuff as we've had in north Kent. What's the track like down there?? I don't think the track would like my weight if it's a bit soggy and I'd have to pull out!! Not bad excuse that - must remember it for the future!! Humps
-
It was perfect with no wet bits on wednesday evening (after earlier rain), It did rain all day yesterday, but track drys quick.
Supposed to be dry and sunny all weekend down here so should be perfect.
No excuses Humps
-

Bringing the remainder of my old school bits and pieces tomorrow, Wolfy is going to evilbay the lot for me, but bring some pennies boys as it all has to go....be good to see you again Zipster :)
-
top race today lads.loads of oldschoolers back for the last race of the year and we certainly missed ya.thanks gary for the raffle bike.one of the hersden bmx familys got it so it will be well used and well looked after.theres only the mum and the baby that dont race!hoped you all liked the end of season trophys.it was so great to see all the smiles on the kids faces as they got something nice for all the hard work they have put in all year.having the all rounds to count rule may not be popular but it rewards commitment and we at hersden think thats a good thing.
it all got a bit mad when the bike got nicked but full marks to the hersden massive.we got it back and got told to ask no questions.
big thanks to the humps crew.they have supported us all year, lending out bikes and fixing them in there droves.bbq was a nice touch and it was amazing how many you can feed on £50 worth of cash and carry burgers.thanks tish and lynn.top bmx mums.
people dont realise how close we were to not having a summer series at all and julie (warlocks sister) saved the day by sorting the money out and getting the track resurfaced.she knocked herself out today after asking for a mums race.that'll teach her.she was ok though and still managed to do call up.another top bmx mum.
hope you all had a good time and look forward to seeing you all next year.check the website nearer the day for the possibility of a new years race.this will only happen weather permitting and will be at short notice.after the pain of last year we feel this is the only way to go on this.cheers lads, justin.
many thanks to our sponsors, tibbs cycles, steve jenks track builders and our very own RADBMX.cheers billy!!!
-
Had a great day today. My only regret this season was breaking my wrist and not being able to race in all the races as planed.
Looking forward to next years summer series and plan on making as many races as possible.
My daughter Charlotte should also be racing next year so that'll be something else to worry about :LolLolLolLol:
Great to see some new faces there today as well and hopefully they'll be attending all the races next year.
Big up to the Wolfster though for his commanding performance this year. He'll have a much harder challenge next year though. :daumenhoch:

Todays turnout of mature (I use the term loosely) riders.
Kamodo taking it easy as he's flying out in 9 days time. ;D
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/v738/meddlebmx/kamodo.jpg)
Hersdens youngest rider, only 3 years old, she started racing when she was 2!!
Logan, who's dad managed to donate some skin to the Hersden track. First time racing at the age of 7, made his groups A final and also got Rider Of The Day trophy.
Front wheel in the air over the first doubles already too!
Overall I took 142 pics and three videos, it'll take some time to sort the best pics out and get the old skool A final video down from it's current 88mb.
Top day, many thanks to Justin, Tony and all the others that put the effort in to make Hersden what it is.
-
great pics graham.logan is only five which makes his A final appearance and rider of the day trophy all the more deserving.all the champs win their first race and he won his.this lad has not a little talent me thinks :coolsmiley:.
-
5?!!! Jeez, I need to clean my ears out.
-
Top days' racing and entertainment as always from the Hersden gang. Huge thanks to Justin and Tony for all the hard work they've put in to the Series this summer. Can't believe there had been rain during the week as the track was as dry and hard as ever. That's a dodgy group of guys in the picture MeddlE but some of them have been the stars of the Series and Wolfy has certainly got that track dialled in nicely. Great to see some new faces and well done to Logan on getting Rider of the Day but I feel guilty about his dad's deposit of skin on the track as I lent him my DK just to try the track and down he went, fortunately without damage (to my bike I mean!!). With the King of Dirt and High Jump contest between the motos and Finals it was an action-packed day. I got a picture of this pair of Radders but very few others I'm afraid:
KDW712 and Muttley in practice
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/v731/Humps00/DSC082482.jpg)
Looking forward to 2007 and I'm definitely going to jump those first doubles next year!! Humps
-
Your all legends.....good luck to you all for the next Hersden summer series, I will watch with great interest next year.
Will Wolfy keep the No1 or will Zippy and co crush his dreams?
Will Mr Glendowers Steroid induced knee op give him the power to dominate?
Will Humps jump the doubles ?.....(and end up in Herne Bay High Street)
Hersden captures some real old school vibes....back when BMX WAS FUN ;)
-
BMX is definitely fun at Hersden!
Had a great day, many thanks to everyone who made this happen.
I still can't believe I went OTB on my very 1st race since may 12th when I broke my arm! I must have been moving forward before the gate moved LOL! I'm so glad Graham was 1/2 second too early with his camera, or you'd have all seen me flying over the still upright gate :idiot2:
Still - just a few grazes, and still managed to race the rest of the day. And it was a really great day too.
Once again, many thanks to all involved!
:D
-
well what a top laugh , roll on next seson
had a good laugh , got a sore shoulder to will try not to lob it in practice next time , but a real fun day
great to meet all the rad mob that whent
well done wolfy :D
-
What a TOP TOP TOP TOP CLASS day. Brilliant fun and some top racing.
Would like to thank the people behind the scenes who make it worthwhile and give me somewhere to go on a Sunday other the Ikea :LolLolLolLol:
Big up Jazzy and TK who i hope will be back next year :daumenhoch:
Here's to 2007 :4_17_5:
-
Thanks lads, for making yesterday great, 13 of you racing plus meddle and Dave spectating, so when they are fully fit they will be back on the track, so Old Skool 2007 looks healthy.
Well done to Nick and Sonic who were making their track debuts, hopefully they will be back.
Congrats to Wolfy for his double, Mark Buxton runner up Old Skool and Darren for Old Skool 3rd and runner up Cruiser.
The plate that was presented to me has taken pride of place next to Katy's trophies at home. Many thanx for that.
See you in 2007

and say

Todays turnout of mature (I use the term loosely) riders.
Was it one of these "mature riders" who was responsible for the 'full moon' at the riders in the Old Skool A Final?? Hopefully MeddlE got a picture and will use it to good effect!! Awaiting Simon Lavenders pics on BADBMX this evening so watch for a link later. Humps
PS: Good luck Gary in Oz - missing you already!! ;)
PPS: Pics starting to appear at http://www.badbmx.com/forum/Blah/Blah.pl?b-race_photos/

-
well chaz bmx youve got all winter to sort your social life out for next summer so you can come and do some racin. to many excusses.... if ya wanna keep old school alive then you gotta at least turn up. :angrysoapbox:
-
Well said Wolfy. We want to keep the numbers up in the OS class so we can keep it going. The racing's not that serious and the track is a right laugh.
Bring on 2007. :4_17_5:
-
think you'll find ole chaz is a bit to young and a bit to good for o/s.this is one of the first lads to clear the hayes himalaya's.his ole man does a mean steak as well.
-
think you'll find ole chaz is a bit to young and a bit to good for o/s.this is one of the first lads to clear the hayes himalaya's.his ole man does a mean steak as well.
But Charlie and Billy could ride 15+ and put the old fella out in Old Skool!! ;D And KDW712 I don't need to pay to buy my way into a B Final you've got to remember I was on a new skool DK so had a distinct advantage over you guys. Yes, that's the answer, it must have been the bike that got into the B Final, after all the rider is at least fifteen years older than most of you younger, fitter, faster riders!! :LolLolLolLol: Next year I'll be a year older, a year wiser and aiming for :4_17_5: Humps
-
Hay Humps are you gonna be on an OS ride then?
-
Humps did put a couple £20 notes in a brown envelope down the back of the radiator in the youth centre, but dont tell anyone ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
But I think it disappeared with the 3rd bike for the raffle, unlike the bike it wasn't seen again :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
TK the MIC
-
oops, I forgot to say goodbye to SATS on Sunday, sorry fella.....good luck for next season in Old School, youre getting far to quick ;)
-
Hay Humps are you gonna be on an OS ride then?
You never know!! My fleet of bikes changes with the wind. But that DK rides real sweet. Humps
-
HUMPS :LolLolLolLol:
you kicked arse sunday - new or old skool
as for me being fitter than you - i very much doubt it ;)
too many pies and so few races
>:D
-
Didn't SATS raffle tickets come up three times? He'd already gone though.
-
yes sats could have taken 3 raffle prizes but left too soon. one of em being a bike as well he will be sick when he finds out ;D
-
Hi All,
Sorry I did not say good bye, very rude of me. Have been a bit manic at the moment, as just started a new job, with a massive commute, so my mind has been on other things.
Was a great day again and was good to see so many people in the old school.
My family-in-law stayed around and said that i had won some pads, but nothing else.... whats this about a bike - might need a new one after throwing mine after my crash in the final!
Did someone say they had a video of it?
-
Aaron, you need to lean the Zippster's technique when falling at that corner. You just pick up your bike and run. I won that race too. :LolLolLolLol:
-
Overall I took 142 pics and three videos, it'll take some time to sort the best pics out and get the old skool A final video down from it's current 88mb.
Still waiting MeddlE or have you put them onto another site?? ;) Humps
-
Still waiting MeddlE or have you put them onto another site?? ;) Humps
There is no other site Humps, this is the only one, everything else is just dross. Not done the video thing before, and not had time to sort through the photos.
-
Had a quick play and got it down from 88mb to 8.64mb. So, here it is, the Old School A final.

Quality racing ! :daumenhoch:
-
Sats :LolLolLolLol:
-
He was not happy was he. :LolLolLolLol:
Oh well there's always 15 + for him to conquer next year. ;D ;D ;D
Hope your arm is better though as that was anasty graze you had there.
Hersden may be a small fun track but it's got some theeth hasn't it.
-
Please put up some more race pics from the "stiff old duffer class" only got two days before I fly out and could do with some light relief ;D
-
Seeing as how you asked nicely Gary. ;) That and the kids are at school, the missus is at work and I'm meant to be doing the housework, so I sorted through the photos instead. ;D
In the order they were taken in.

I seem to remember sponsoring the medals at the first (or second) ever race at Hersden.
I am Charlies dad and you are welcome to come and talk to me about parenting any time.

Well said Wolfy.

Built like a brick s**thouse and mean, and I mean MEAN!! Curious why "dad" appeared on this thread so long after the original post defending Charlie but hey that's the Internet for ya!! Hopefully we will see the butcherboys at Hersden in 2007 and just maybe the old chap can sort out a ride too!! Humps
-
Nope!!! Still none the wiser, he has mis-read Wolfy's post too.
