and then build it into a bike?
-
I mentioned this street beat bike build off to someone the other day.....did it ever happen?
-
I've not seen a streetbeat chromed but I remember Dave Vanderspeck had the Streetbeat prototype in Chrome with T/A style stickers, red tuffs and blue and red components when he did the UK Curb Dogs tour. It's in BMX Action Bike 10/84. If you want to see I'll get some scans done.

There was a Chrome Streetbeat for sale on usbay a few months ago, it was a Nos one chromed by Skyway, I was going to bid on it, but I had just won a Nos 85 Performer & the streetbeat had no forks.
DCBMX was the seller & it never reached its reserve, so he may still have it.

I've posted the Curb Dogs scans here...

gmac, how much did it cost to get that copper plated? looks cool.
-
About £150.
I don't reckon It's ever gonna get built, so I'll probably just stick on the bay anyway.

I wanted to get my mini Torker Copper plated but I couldn't find anywhere that could guarantee that it would come out perfect and would stay that way without tarnishing. :(

I love my beats but that red one and gold one blow! they need blasting back to raw asap!
-
I'd like to see a raw beat built!seriously though whats the deal with the chrome tuffs???has he had em made in alloy and polished em?? :daumenhoch: :idiot2:
-
The red doesn't actually look real? I know it is, it just doesn't, it looks like it was done on a computer.
-
I bought that copper street beat. I thought horse brasses would compliment it but just ended up looking like a country pub.
