I asked over on v and os and here to see what consensus we can come to
The VDC produced forks, for Star Products, early GHP's, Torker, Freeagent, VDC & Revcore/CW??
Are they the same and therefore inter-changeable between brands?
They all look very similar as do the early GT's.
Just wondering?
Thanks
Paul

Paul ,
When you say inter-changeable , do you mean they fit each other ? .
In my experience any 4" fork fits a 4" headtube frame , some Redlines etc only being different due to 5" headtubes :daumenhoch: .
-
Matt,
What I mean is are they the same spec and look the same, if so the ellusive GHP forks could be adequately replaced by revcore, torker etc?

What you need is to get photos of all the forks dropouts lined up to see if they match
Here's a CW fork

I see what you mean Paul , some of them look completely different . The GHP forks are very rounded at the top of the legs like Hutch ones , a very pronouced curve as shown here....................

GT for instance are much more slim line kinda ;)

no, they are all different (altho those VDC CW forks would look nice on ur ghp dude they quite similar) the other bike companies had their designs and VDC stuck em together, by far my faves are the ghp forks tho, if i was you i'd do what i wanted to do BITD and get some nice shiny unstamped landing gear for it. it'l look beefy as foook. :daumenhoch:

Orgasmdonor,
That is what I was going to do, the LG's - but I saw an old pair of nos torker forks on the bay and in the small picture on the auction they looked like a good alternative.
Bit of a moot point now though as I have traded the GHP with Johan.

They'll be gracing it when it's resto'd , those pics are when I got it home from my mates place & the exact spec it was in 1984 ! ;)
Note: Complimentary cobwebs on 1st pic in spokes at rear of front wheel ::)

Matt,
You make it sound like you have a spare pair of bars!!
Please sell them to me for my Star Products ;)

Which GHP did you trade , the later one ? . I'm guessing you still have the complete build from the bay ?.
