Having a go on that at Storm a couple of years ago made me decide to put mine back together. My 06 Sport feels great but the Master feels more natural -I think it's the coaster that does it

ooh, does that mean my haro rep is the third oldest on record....cool
Dave
Your bike sure is the third oldest survivor known to exist Worldwide, and another quality bit of information (unless there have been some recent ownership changes that I might have missed) -
- The 3 oldest Freestylers are in the UK
- The 2 oldest Gen 2 Masters are in the UK
- The 1 and only (and oldest) Gen 2 Sport is in the UK
PS - TEE 0083 HS a Gen 1 Sport is the oldest, but a picture has not been shown that I know of, so
- The oldest Gen 1 Sport is also in the UK
All we need is THH 3924 F (a Gen 1 Master) from the US of A and the UK will have a full collection of the Oldest Haro's in the World.
J.

Is that list all the known haros then, I thought it was just the uk ones ::)
-
Is that list all the known haros then, I thought it was just the uk ones ::)
The list is all the known Haro's Worldwide.
I update it as and when a new bike comes to light, but have also been working on some new columns for each bike.
Dan in the US was asking for a list of bikes, Moose also had a list and wanted to decode the date and Jay also had some input. I put it all in a spreadsheet and tweaked it and hey presto.....
I also thought it would be great to have a list that would be informative and contain as much data and facts as possible, so that each Haro is fully identifyed and also it's history known.
As such, I am know working on -
EXAMPLE
Original Finish - Chrome
Current Finish - White Powder with new decals,
Damage / Condition - Cracked gusset has now been welded,
History - Bob Haro's (a factory bike) main ride
Notes - found in a shed and sold on ebay a $1

Hi all
I know it has been a while since i've been about (unfortunately the whole family had another rear end accident - this time at Christmas in Paris) so family priorities have been very important for the last 8 or so months.
However, great to get this thread going again.
Dave - what is the date / month of the mag please.
Great on another Gen 1 find (please PM history, how and where you found it, original owner, any damage and lots of pictures etc).
Amazing collections, can you all please post the serials to make sure that none are missed.
Thanks
J.

Welcome back mr Greentoad ,hope you and your family are doing well . Yeah there has been a few good finds and another Gen 1 sport found in the UK......Bizzare,i'm sure Dom will give you the full story of how it became to land in the UK.

Daz,basically the story goes that the guy I bought the bike off rode at southsea back in the day and CC rode there when he could get a lift down off his mum and dad, they got to know each other over a period of time until one day CC turned up and told the guy about his sponsorship, the guy offered to buy his old bike and the deal was done,it didnt come to him with the flights or the tuffs it was only slightly more than a frame and forks to which he added all his own parts,I asked a few questions on here when I bought the bike and spoke to greentoad and everything seems to fit,I then took it to MK 07 for him to have a look,I think he was convinced,he did get a bit upset at one point when I told him I was going to paint it with a brush ;)sorry dude >:Dall thats left for me to do now is seriously think on whether I should do it as a survivor or rechrome it,most of the parts I have for it are NOS so I need to make up my mind

HiYa Jon
Glad that you still got it, but no way should you re-chrome, that's my opinion as said before.
If you polish too much or re-chrome you will lose the ID and all the sticker ghost marks - they are only visible by eye and you'll never be able to take pictures of them.
It is a piece of history and as we both know, is also damaged / cracked in strange places indicating that CC had big air and also did some hard landings, a re-chrome would hide it all.
J.

Whats the storey on this Masetr :-\
The forks look a bit like LGs & what are those Wheels ::)
& check out those Bars.....
I posted this a while ago on Vintage.
This ad is from french "Bicross magazine", dated July 85.
Looks they were selling the remaining stocks from 84.
The importer had the full specs haro bikes on this catalog, but also some cheaper ::) versions. This is what you can see here.
They used to import Anlun products aswell.
So, I guess that a few kids ended up with knockoffs stickered as...
Only the frames (and the Sport forks) seem to be genuine, rest is taiwanese stuff, wheels are "Tuff Wheel III" (????) and the forks I could never put a name on, some weird LG copies with welded platforms...
Now why am I not able to put my hands on a 84 Haro in France?? :LolLolLolLol:

Maybe I posted in the wrong forum earlier???
Here's the 1983 Haro Freestyler featured on the cover of BMX Plus!
This is my second Freestyler I bought in 1983 and picked one up for my buddy Rick too! This is all original and was signed by Bob and Ron Wilton in 1983. This is original except I did replace the headtube and fork stickers though.
Everything is exact and more can be found out by clicking here! (http://www.jtfreestyle.com/Vintagebikes/1983_BobH_Haro_Freestyler.htm)

I spent so much time on my Freestyler! Of all my bikes it was my favorite of the Haros I rode. It's been great to first meet Bob in 1981 and after 27 years things are as gnarly as ever!
Click here to see my 1982 Haro Freestyler featured in Bob's Book, Freestyle Moves. (http://www.jtfreestyle.com/Vintagebikes/1982_BobH_Haro_Freestyler.htm)

My 85 FST.... which I sold today :'( it was just sat in the shed doing f. all so Im using the £££ for new ink :) & my 07' Haro Forum Counterpart. A lot of people hate on new Haro's & even tho I have a somewhat bias opinion, the new stuff just keeps getting better. The only downside to this bike/frame is a 14.25 chainstay, way too long!
I have the rest of my Haro stuff to post when I get pics....

That Blyther advert is my favourite image of BMX I think, I saw it in a local newsagent years ago & it sort of paints a picture of what I saw BMX as, cool bike, clear blue sky, concrete. Perfect.

Dom I have a Chrome 42T Chainwheel if you want it ???

No mine is a Sugino one :-\

OK, Literaly just finished building this. Got it from the states in December and i had been media blasted (with walnut shell thankfully, very little pitting) so i stripped, sanded, polished and rechromed along with the vectors and 401 arms. Pretty pleased with it but had a right old game with the mx3 grips over the vectors (as i am sure others have in the past) but got them on with help of the wifes hairdryer. Think i will replace them with blue ame tri's in the near future and also have a nos blue series one to go on. Big thanks to Christian for parting with the haro levers :daumenhoch:

Thanks Dave, yeah i may change grips and levers to finish it off. The levers feel really delicate too, love the look of them but you need hands like that bloke in total rcall to brake :LolLolLolLol:

Ok i picked this up at the weekend and as you can see it needs work :LolLolLolLol:
I am going to restore it as a survivor, i have already dealt with the rust and im looking for a suitable shade of white to etch and touch in the treated areas. Its going back together with everything original apart from the chain although i havent ruled out rescuing that yet....oh and that bar pad is totally fooked so thats out too.
