Title: freewheel removing from tuff2
Post by: chrishil1 on November 05, 2006, 09:39 AM: cant get the freewheel off,

I havent got a proper tool,

tried hammering the threaded lip, putting a punch in the two external lug holes and hammering round
even tried welding the cog to the casing and putting the cog in vice and turning the wheel, wont budge.

any suggestions apart from take it bike shop?

no its not a cassette type.
Got a atom freewheel which wont budge.

dont think its going to move with a slot in pin type socket, 1 of the slots a little bit chewed. not really bad though
hopefully they will have something that will fit like chain and lock.

Post by: selfpreservation on November 05, 2006, 06:11 PM: if all else fails you can crush it in a vice bassically you take the outer part of the freewheel , the cog if you will havef then grip the inner part in a vice ( not too tight or you will wreck the threads on the wheel) then just turn the wheel anticlockwise and it will come off

Post by: sawzall on November 05, 2006, 06:30 PM: i welded a 12" bar to freewheel so i didnt move then use bar as lever,heat from welding will also help to free it off :daumenhoch:
