I need to know if there was a white 1 3/8th size tire available ??
please look in the sections with the vendor ads - please
I dont want to spend the same amount of time as i did hunting hutch titanium spokes to find they do not exist,
As they did 1.75 size in white I am hoping there are white comp 111's 20 x 1 3/8ths
Thanks

Jon I know they did blue as I gave three to a friend a few weeks back so I dont see why they didnt do white?
:) DINGO :)

White is such a difficult colour actually. Most of the oldschool tires turned into yellow. Bleach it? Is that an idea?
I will keep my eyes open for you mate.
Jon, you rule.

Jon it's me - your UXBMX 6WM nemesis, of the lanky/tall vs tech/small debate we had a few weeks ago. Anyway, I am pretty sure (but will check the ABMX and Bi-Weekly library in the attic) that Mitsuboshi/Tioga didn't do a white 1 3/8, but one of the cheaper 'copy' firms did. That, I'm sure, is not what you wanted to hear.. Might have been Cheng Shin or one of those mobs.
Anyway, given your total dominance of Planet JMC, isn't it time you turned your attention to the world of fakes and built a complete bike kitted out with Landar bits? Actually, anyone got any copies of those bad old copy ads? 8)

Hi se - thanks for your reply - man thats not what I wanted to hear, I have found some natural gum colour comp 111's that will kind of do, but I really need white for build I am working on, as long as its authentic OS stuff, I could be tempted to use any make to get the look right on this ocassion, asthetcis are the key to this build !!!
If you could get in the archives and check I would really apreciate it -
Now who has them damn tires !
Thanks Bro

So I spent an evening wading through BMX Bi-Weeklies from 1985 and ABMX from 84 and 85 - and nothing. Any idea if these white wonders might have been around earlier than that? My mind is hazy. For some reason I had a vague idea Panracer or Kenda did them. Only thing I found was a unicycle tyre but that looks too wide and s clearly cheating anyhow: http://www.unicycle.uk.com/shop/shopdisplayproduct.asp?catalogid=527. :-\

Thanks SE, I just read on OS BMX this morning a post from my us bro racerbvd - he told me he had 20 or so a couple of years ago, so I know they exist for sure !!
Thanks for looking, so what did you find out o interest whils reading the old mags, I am sure something good must have come from your efforts !
Yep those look too wide, and tempted as i could be to get the asthetics right, it would not sit right kin the long run having a tyre that is so far out in the era correctness !!
Thanks again SE -

Stuff of interest (my attic is furnished with every Bi-Weekly from Feb '83 onwards and every ABMX bar issue 1) includes Greg Hill's racing tips, Ripper and Floval tests, A. Ruffell setting the bunny hop record at Pickett's Lock and beating Craig Campbell in the freestyle with a "flawlessly smooth routine include endos" and Stephen Baldry doing big air out of the Rom 'peanut bowl'. :)
