Title: Powder Coating question.....
Post by: Moose on November 18, 2006, 09:02 PM
Can you powder coat over powder coat?

I have a frame (non-BMX) that has a protective powder coat finish already (as its Magnesium Alloy). Can this just be powdered straight over?

I'll PM Dan, cheers  :daumenhoch:

Just so you know, the powder base coat is there to prevent the Magnesium alloy corroding (Magnesium alloy corrodes very quickly), so I don't want to strip it. If I can't powder straight over, I'll get it wet sprayed.

EDIT: I didn't have to PM Dan, I found the aswer from the internet. Seems I need to have it wet sprayed  ::)
