Always great to see old ROM pics. Dan, nice Race Inc, I had a Race Inc (mini) all in gold is was beautful and so fooking light too.
Always loved those Max elbo pads and Max seat covers for a Uni Seat. The pool tile carve is sweet. Love the SKINS grafitti, and the two kids wearing flight jackets - shows it's age.

cheers ramp rat,   what year was you riding?   seen your pics and the're awsome,    how old was you in 83,

aso  my race inc had tuffs for freestyle and spokes for racing,  the pics show both ;)   loved that frame but

it didnt last long, done a massive jump out of the performance and cracked most of the welds :crazy2:

also in a lot of my pics i have two different wheels,  thats because i kept buckling the rear wheel :)

Hey Dan - I was 14 in '83. Me and my mates Ralph Tribe, Tony Mac and Steve Baldry were weekend regulars down rom, it took us 2 hours to get there from Sutton, Surrey. We had to take the tube to Elm Park, took forever but well worth the trip.

Yeah, those Race Inc weren't good freestyle frames, my made Steve Baldry (AKA Crazy Leggs -  in fact he used to love jumping out the P. Bowl like you. He got some coverage in BMXAB). He broke his race Inc and so I sold mine right after that and got a GT Standard.

Here's a pic of my Gold mini Race Inc. it had 3 inch race inc bars, 158 Suntour Cranks, mini Suntour stem, Ukai rims. I'd kill to have that bike again, it looked so sweet and so light, really help me get airs off a jump.

Dan - Billy's a big lad at 6' 1". I was a little runt at 14 as you can see from the pic.

Billy - looking good on the x-ups. It was always one of my fav. airs. The secret to a good x-up is to cut 1 inch off the ends of the bars. I used to cut all my bars down, it really helped.

Here's me in the P. Bowl with cut down CW bars. '83

damon  that pic in the p bowl,  awsome,   no one airs that bowl today with style, the kids today

just cant air it,  same as the pool,  it's funny in our day it was so normal to air it,  and i honestly

cant remember hooking up either :coolsmiley:

as for billy he's got the xups and does sweet one foot airs so i keep trying to get him to put the two together,

when he does i'll get the pic,   nothing sweeter then a xup one foot table air ;)

That's because the youngsters carve to air and that's hard to do in the performance bowl... Old School all the way!  :daumenhoch:

Hey Vinoah - Thanks for the pic of Ralph, I remember that night TLB came round to do a photo shoot, the ramp was only 4 feet wide and I remember us both coming off the side of the ramp and crashing into all his camera lights and equipment. What a laugh.

Ralph was one of greats from back then and like the old Rom lot, disapeared from the scene. He would have definitely been sponsored had he not quit.

Here's a cool pic of Ralph doing a salute...Steve Baldry AKA Crazy Leggs is watching on...

Me riding The Baby Kong 4 ft wide - We built this ramp in my front garden, that was the best feeling ever, coming home from school and having a session with all your mates. Neighbours went mad.     :idiot2:
