Title: rider replica builds . . . .
Post by: theRuler on November 27, 2006, 09:45 PM
some real nice rider replica jobs have been done -

dave r's awesome bob haro gen 1, dordy's neil ruffel streetbeat and jay's mike d replica

plenty more to do though!

what i'd like to see is replica of paul zak's aero pro he rode on bmx beat - the real shiny polished one
and fiola's burgundy / white performer. with wheel discs!

or maybe a ronw haro, or blyther sport (like on frosties)

the only rider replica bike i would build is the neil ruffell orange street beat. i know it's been done so many times, but that is the sexiest bike you could build.

if i had to have a second choice, it would be carlo's pink street beat with the grey tuffs he used on ramps at the tizer world championships.

Wasnt that the Streetbeat Prototype? it had a different seatstay/platform if I remember? Now that would be a nice build if someone could build it.

i reckon potentially, a half decent welder, with a streetbeat frame and some extra tube could make a replica. that would be nice.
and doable

apparantly blythers fst was a sport repainted and redecaled as the sport was longer.

obviously you cant quote me on it, but there was a thread on vbmx about his fst really being a sport, but im sure you dont have three weeks to search for it waiting for it to load the page.

Dave

The first FST's were apparently full cro-mo.

I remember the thread on VBMX and I thought BB chimed in and said he didn't know if it was a Sport or not as his frames were made for him? (but not an FST anyway)  ???   I could be wrong though  :-\

Yeah Phil ,A few years back i was going to do a replica BB FST, it was me who asked him about that , what he said was , the FST frame he rode was specially made for him and based on the sport dimensions , which just means a sport painted up to me , but maybe it was a little different some how , He doesn't remember ??? But when you look at the frame you can tell its not a FST , its longer...........
This is the Frame in this shot.......

Coming back to streetbeats for a moment, was Carlos pink bike with grey tuffs not a Street Styler?  Scott carroll (rip) used one of those as well

Yep, both Carlo and Scotts ramp bikes were Street Styler's.
