just bought this - any ideas what it is?
-
got a pic, ad?
-
not till I get out of work, home, blah blah blah... Told it's a Kuwuhara? Did Tange make their frames...? Rear drop outs have only a single hole and I always thought the LaserLite had three? Also it's a looptail and all the pictures of Kuwuhara I can see aren't...
-
if it has one hole its now a kuwi (i think ) tange made most good race frames bitd (there are a lot of superb exceptions obviously) still you cant beat tange build quality instanty reconizable welds chrome geo , nice
-
if its a looptail frame with single hole droput (& the rest of it looks like a Kuwahara) it sounds like an ET frame sometimes known as a KZ2.5
obviously a pic would be more than helpful ;)
now we've seen it has no gusset then its loking more & more like a Cro Mo Burner :-\

T3J 3265 means Tange made in October 1983 :angel:
T = Tange made
3 = 1983
J = October
3265 is individual item number :daumenhoch:

thanks all - will get posts up when rechromed and restored...
-
be nice to see a pic of it now so we can tell you exactly which model it is!
point you in the right direction for your resto too :daumenhoch:

Looks like it was this one that ended early on ebay.

as far as i know Kuwahara never stamped "Tange Japan" under their BB's!
if there was a factory stamp it would just say Kuwahara not Tange!
i reckon the only kuwahara it could have been is the Trimoly Nova
But they are stamped differently under the BB as shown below so its still looking like a cromo Burner!
which funnily enough has a mild steel rear end so is really Trimoly ::)

you gonna have to stop taking jamies word as gospel adam. he only has one or 2 of each model and even says he doesn't know that much and goes off what others tell him. mail him and ask him, he is allways a bit vague.

looks like a nove to me.
-
i use Jamies site as a reference along with some of the guys on V, i always use pics from Jamies as its so quick to find them ;)
i was thinking Nova until the guys with Burners in front of them posted pics with identical stamping etc so now i'm leaning more towards that :-\
plus its pretty unusual to have anything more than the number stamped into a pre 84 Kuwahara :-\
we're all still learning & remembering everyday ::) :daumenhoch:
-
too true mate, but i am convinced jamie knows just as much(or little) as you and I. both them pictures are from the same sale. i have never seen a burner that looked like a nova ::)

What is the brake bridge like? flat or round tube?
Was it the one on ebay? if so did you want to sell the wheels? and did you buy any of the other bikes he had for sale?
