Title: what the hell is this?
Post by: pickle on November 29, 2006, 08:20 AM
putting my Mid school racer together and have purchased a lovely (but edging towards gay!) purple anodised canti brake set for the rear.  Got it off the bay and this came with them........haven't a clue what it is or what it's supposed to do??

Anyone know?  (not that i'll use it....i'm just curious) and that's not Bi curious i'll have you know!   ;)

It says Crud Claw by Sensible products engraved on it's side or top??

It's to clean the crap from between the cogs of a 7 speed block.  Mr crud is legendary amongst MTB riders

Yeah i'm well aquanted with Mr Cruds MTB guards, and that's what i thought it could be for.........but how the hell does it work?  what would you bolt it too?

My guess it would bolt through the gear hanger, then point the blades to the cogs? problem is what about the chain?

No wonder this never took off  ???

It would have to go on the front under side of the cogs were the chain doesn't touch the cogs .....
