Sorry for crap pics taken on phone :-\

PPPPPPPP...........Patterson?? :)
-
great find that mahoooosive seat post is patterson style so looks a gooden
-
Patterson's usually have a machined head tube and bb and the rear dropouts don't look Patterson to me, does it have a US or Euro BB? Could be a Powerlite?
-
Its got the standard type crank same as quad/haro etc is that US ?
Had all the right bits on it but gonna split for parts.
"Just had a look on oldschoolbmx site does look alttle like the patterson long model " he said hoping others would agree ;D
-
I'm liking the original OS celotape cable ties! :daumenhoch:
-
WoW, looks good.
I have no idea to be honest, but from the serial I would guess as - Patterson, May 1983 and Number 119.
If so it could be a Long, but the drop-outs look wrong for the Long bikes I've seen. Not all Pattersons seem to have a flanged head tube though and other Pattersons do have similar drop outs as yours.
It does look a lot like a Patterson Avalanche to me, but what about the serial - did they make them in 83 - or is the date that I worked out wrong?
I'm pretty sure it's a Patterson but model and year....?
What is the brake bridge like? And does it have support behind the BB? - Pics Please.

I don't think it's a Patterson - didn't the seat stays meet the seat tube more at the side? Also, the rear drop-outs look like Powerlite?
-
could be a patterson pro 82, have a look on vintagebmx.com :daumenhoch:
-
Looks like this to me :daumenhoch:
http://www.bmxmuseum.com/bikes/patterson/1273
Looks like the rear dropouts were different before 85 :-\
Sorry for the external link guys
Paul :coolsmiley:

The seat stays don't wrap around the sides, as mentioned - http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=109.0
But look at the dropouts - http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/patterson/image86 same P and postioning for P and serial -
http://www.bmxmuseum.com/bikes/patterson/1273 - has flanged head tube though.

Hmmmmm , on closer inspection , the rear dropouts are different slightly. The tops aren't as straight as on the patterson on the museum ???
Fook knows :-\
-
nice torker stem by the looks of it too. :4_17_5:
-
oh, and it is a powerlite like moose says. i can't tell you which model, but with them dropouts it's a powerlite for sure.
only one i can find for you is this
(http://www.os-bmx.com/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=7522)
but it's not clear. but it's the flat top to the dropouts that says powerlite.
-
It looks like one of the early Patterson frames when they moved from the machines head tube to the latrer type smooth head tube - most likely to be a small or mini frame as the larger oned didnt have such a long seat tube

Surely early pattersons would have the distinctive seatstays and the older style drop-outs?
Here's a Powerlite with those drops, but it also has a machined headtube....

brake bridge pic might help
-
Some Powerlites - http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/powerlite/
But the height of the seat post tube does not seem high enough.
Lets not forget the font for P, the slight angle of it, and also the position of the serial all seems to be Patterson.
Anyone got a picture of a Powerlite serial? (Surely they would not of been identical)
http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/patterson/1273/4 - has a 7 digit serial (raather than the unknown bike with 6 digits) but maybe they hoped that more would sell! However, the dates and numbers do fit - Feb 1984 and number 165 (follows on from May 1983 and Number 119).

Don't the Patterson PR200's (with that style drop-out) also only have short seat tubes (and of course the distinctive seat stays)?
-
It's not a Patterson as the headtube is all wrong. The dropouts were also longer than those of the one pictured.
-
check out the flat top.
-
It's a Maximum rare as fook if the top tube is 18.75" it's a XL like mine.

Ray Beard on Vintage is the world encyclopedia on them and has the repro stickers

That solves that little mystery, nice one :daumenhoch:
I should have recognised it after the amount of drooling I did over your Maximum at Bournemouth '05
-
Best make sure it doesnt end up in the skip at work then !!!!
cheers for the help guys !!!! :daumenhoch:
-
Nice one and well sorted! If it gets built like the one above it will look the dogs doodars :daumenhoch:
-
  a what! looks good, but another new make. i wonder just how many bikes i have ignored over here due to lack of recognition. :-[ if that is your blink, you want to trade them gt forks ::) for some tastey other forks. I got loads of NOS tange forks, a nice new chrome set and 40 quid is a sweet deal for us both ;) or i have NOS dx hubs in box with a cog and sticker.

Townsend the only thing I would trade the red GT forks for is a good set of chrome GT forks of the 82-83 era. The reason I use GT forks on the Maximum is that they are the closest thing you can get to Maximum forks (only the drop out detailing is different). Early Maximums were made by a guy called Larry Hess, I think, in California but later on he subcontracted the manufacture to GT (my bike is one of these models) and they basically used GT forks with a hole cut in the dropouts.
Cheers

ok, but that would kind of defeat the object :'( i would want to chrome them ones. Ah well. nice bike btw. :)
still think it lloks like a powerlite
