Hey guys.
I got it off the bay for $50,it just arrived today.
I know it's a proto due to the serial, the only similar serial like this I ever saw was the 2 of the 3 protos Sandy had.
The proto F-1 with a serial of BB 00 ?? & the other one that had his initials in it SE 00 ??
I can't remember what the last 2 digits were in either #,I wish he could see this one.
However I don't know what model it's a proto of,I need to ask Ramon if he has any educated guesses.
The textured paint on this thing is so weird,it's similar to the futuristic black Hutch paint. It appears to be the only paint on it,I forgot to take pics of it but some of the paint is missing from where the seat clamp covers the seat tube & it's not chrome underneath but bare metal & is a nice even layer finish in all tight spaces too.
It's got some yellow label Comp III's that have seen better days but the tread is awesome, some nice black Araya 7C's? & black Suzue hubs, the Ame's need a good cleaning but they are in otherwise good shape. The rest is no name junk except for the near mint SR seat clamp & Dia Compe brake set,the Tange forks are in decent shape but the decals are a little cooked.
Check it out.
It's freakin bizarre & cool.

Ken ,
Cool score & even more so if it turns out to be a rare DB :4_17_5:
-
Ken,
That is a result of a score. I love reading the threads of the DB history and it is a shame that Sandy isn't around to give the low down on it, but as you say Ramone's knowledge may help shed some light.
Keep us posted on what you learn and Don't forget to put it in our museum too.
Regards
Paul

Those are 7X's?
Those Arayas are confusing,I was never good at figuring out which were which. :-[
Is there a Araya timeline with pics anywhere?
Ya know, when the 7X came out & what it looked like. When the 7C came out & what it looked like. ETC?
