Title: BADBMX Track - surface going down!
Post by: Rooonga on October 01, 2005, 12:56 PM
Hi everyone,

So sorry about the BADBMX site being down (It is back up again now) - I think it will be the last time as I am gonna pay for the hosting from now on! (Assuming my new credit card comes in time for the end of October ;) )

Anyway here's the latest pics taken on Thurday (29th Sept)

I recon by now they must have the whole secone straight finished, I will hopefully be riding it Monday and let you know what I think! :D

Here's a few pics:

This one shows how much has had the 1st layer of the surface put down:

How it looks from 2nd corner looking back to 1st corner:

Opposite angle of the one above:

Finally - the whole track!! (Obviously had to take it in 2 parts - sorry for quality on left side - dirty windows in the block of flats! LOL)

The BADBMX website is now up and running again, so keep popping by there for updates. (Especially after Monday!)

I am told it should be finished in a couple of weeks - however the fencing will need to be done before it's officially opened. (I am told we MIGHT be allowed onto the track before it is all complete though - Keep fingers crossed)

Is the banking on that berm in the right place, it just looks like it is too far out to be used.

@ SteveN

You are right, but it's far better than it was!

I have had lots of troubles getting it changed, they have made major changes already and I have asked for it to be brought round more, but it seems to be falling on deaf ears at the moment.

I'll have another chat tomorrow, and see if I can get 'em to see the light!

:)

I went to the track today, and got to ride it!!

Only the 2nd straight, but I recon it's the best bit of the track anyway!

Surface wasn't the finished stuff, but was well packed down and rode quite well. I didn't even attempt to jump the doubles but know I'll give them a go once I get up to proper speed.

Would like to thank DJStegges, and Tony Holland who both popped down. (Especially Tony for his extra clout when trying to get the 1st corner changed! ;) )

The builder agreed with us about the change to the 1st berm, and I have now written to the boroughs architect to formally request a change. The builder will have a chat with his bosses tmorrow, and it's looking hopeful that they may change the berm. (fingers crossed!)

Hopefully they will extend the berm right up to the double jump, and slope the flat area insode the berm so you can even ride the inside lines without losing too much speed.

I said that if it will help they can remove the little speed jump that is between the berm and the doubles.

This small change will make a really big difference to a track which (IMHO) is already very good.

Looking forward to seeing anyone who can make it on Weds evening!

:D
