Were tuffs ever shipped from the factory with alloy hubs, but with the hubs bolted in, instead of rivetted? I have just recieved a set from a reputable source, and tho the wheels look in absolutely mint condition (you can tell they have never been ridden or mounted) the front has got a bolt in alloy hub, without the plastic tube thing between the bearing cups. The wheels were sold as NOS. What do you think?

no chance , why would they do that ?
Unless its a NOS rear turned into a front but skyway wouldnt of done it

Cheers Rich. Would you take it up with the supplier?

UK made tuffs came with bolt in alloy hubs (apparently), but if the rear is a riveted hub then they're not a 'true' pair.
I bought a NOS set from Biagio that had a riveted rear and bolted front, which as it happens, turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I also had two NOS fronts, so I swapped the bolted front for a rear and made two pairs :daumenhoch:

So to summarise, I have still got a NOS set, though not a true pair.
Only the anal amongst us would be bothered :LolLolLolLol:

Probably - it's possible that the front is a converted rear. I think if the front was a UK tuff, then it would have 'made in the uk' on it (although I'm not 100% certain of that)

They have been discussing something similar on osbmx
