Title: The International Museum of Fake Parts...
Post by: Bren Gunn on December 20, 2006, 06:29 PM
After reading an extremely long drawn-out thread on one of the other sites regarding the evil that is reproduction parts, I have realised there is no resource available for a collector to compare or gather information on what could be a very costly piece, other than posting a thread on your site of choice… and then you could still get a number of different answers that are not necessarily correct.

So do you think it would be possible, over a period of time, and with the help of the other three old school websites, to build an International Museum of Fake Parts?...

Discuss…

Here you go!  :daumenhoch:
real and fake Bottema forks together.
The locking ring slot on the stem is milled on the fakes. The Originals are cut with a cuttoff wheel.
The stemtube is not reineforced like the Skatepark models. The dropouts are very similar, but not exact. They are thicker (not by much)
Every fork is stamped on the stemtube. The ends are capped as are the Skatepark models. I think the early forks are not capped. I'm not 100% on this though.
