it could be a good thing,about an inch and half would make a big difference.{fork travel nothing else}

going from a 24" mtb to a cruiser around a track like wheelbase the mtb accelerates a lot quicker out of the gate you can preload the shock to pop you out as it drops.

I'm just in the middle of building this up ( it's a bit more finished than the picture) I'll let yer have a go at MK next year and see what you think.

I'm not expecting it to be a revelation to be honest as the Pro Forx are very old school technology with elastamor? damping.

Well, when suspension was a big thing I designed and build my own suspension fork  :D
Worked very well but just a little heavy.
Here's my JJR selfmade bike from 1995

And also rebuild my 1991 Brackens with a Answer pro forx.

When I raced 4X a few years ago I  more or less locked out my mtb forks so they didn't bounce at all, I couldnt believe how sloppy my gates were with any suspention. The only benifit I could get from them was if I over jumped a landing my wrists wouldnt break, or pre-loading before a double to get a bit more pop. The only track I think I needed suspention was fort bill, big, bad drops there.

Sorry, I don't think BMX's should have any suspention at all and I dont believe with the smoothness of a BMX tracks you get any help from it. Not to mention they look terrible. Super rigid wheels with loads of psi is what makes you go fast imo. :rant:

If they were of any benifit at all they would still be being used for racing now, as far as I know theres nothing stopping you, shit you can even use gears and clips if you must......

Those who like them, fair play, it's all good, if we all liked the same things this would be a very boring message board!! :daumenhoch:

Oh and elastomer forks squeek, remember those old Pro-flex mtb's, you could hear them coming from miles away. :LolLolLolLol:

i had some of these in about 96 (answer ProForx) i saw them in a shop & felt i "had to have them"  ::)

after a short while i realised they were just a bit heavy & a bit rubbish so sold them to the guys at DMR at Golding Barn! i think one of their little brothers wanted them! i was just glad to offload them TBH

elastomer is just a posh word for "squashy bit of rubber" & the Proforx only had about an inch of travel so were pretty redundant anyway  ::)

good bit of Midschool history though  :daumenhoch:
