Post by: hotrodzombie on December 23, 2006, 05:38 PM
Hi all,

Just picked up a Mongoose from my local bike shop, was wondering if anyone could identify it and tell me where to look for the serial number?
cheers -HRZ-

Excellent, cheers.

There seems to be one hidden on the inside of the rear drop-out. :)
Any ideas what this is? (model / year etc)

I think all Geese have Serial # under BB

It looks like a Mongoose Wire Wheel from 1984

Pretty sure it is a Mongoose Wire Wheel as it has the correct rear dropouts although yours looks like it has got earlier style decals

Pretty sure none of the Ammacos had that rear dropout with the cut out unless they changed from 85 onwards

It does have an ammaco decal on the forks.

So it's an Ammaco built Mongoose? Is this a good thing or is it a run-of-the-mill type of thing?
cheers all.

So it's not charity shop fodder then? Wicked! :D

OK, now my next question is....

What would have this bike looked like when it was brand new? Anyone have any scans of old catalogues etc?
cheers again! :)
