I have almost finished my restoration of Elliots Kuwahara.\
This was gonna be rebuilt to the same as the ET Original, but I am never gonna better Jazzchimp's effort. After all it was his one that made we wanna get one.
So I have opted to try to replicate the bike from the film. So, no ET stickers, just the kuwahara ones, chunky black wall crosser tyres and no pads.
It started life as a rusty chrome KYZ:

It now looks like this:

I have set of black Dia Compe 890s, tech 2 levers, black kuwahara grips and a set of black ukais with large flange hubs to go on.
It presently has gold arayas as I want to take it out to ride tomorrow and the black ukais need re-annodising.
Loud shout goes out to Craig misfitsat for the paint job, it is fecking awesome.
Thanks to Lee Radman for brakes (when they arrive) and also to Pete Quadrophenia for the rear large flange suntour hub and finally robin (Burnaliser) who has been my partner in crime with this build. Many thanks to you all.
Hope you like it!

Beauuuutiful!! Jimbo
Tell you something - I has a set of NOS grips which were the ones on Elliots bike. I have analized ET frame by frame for the spec and he had different grips which were like Grab-on MX3's but with Kuwahara on em not the ones that were on the UK version which were the tange ones. Anyhoo, not knowing exactly what they were I put them on ebay and they sold to someone in the Us for just over £50 quid!! :idiot2: It was only later I realised what they were! :tickedoff:
Cheers for the compliment and fabulous build! :4_17_5:

Carl, thanks for the compliments. Gonna put the silver seat post back on aswell, but can't be arsed tonight as it is on my Hutch.
I am also on the verge of buying a red double clamp stem like the one Elliot has in the film. I presently have the Sugino shaped stem which I am getting annodised black to replicate the ET Original too. That way i can have 2 bikes in one!
