Title: Nippon brakes
Post by: peen on January 03, 2007, 03:36 PM
So what's the deal with Nippon brakes? I only remember the MX brakes but I seen these Nippon's on 85+ bikes. Apart from looks, what is the difference with them and the MX brakes? Do they have better stopping power or a different mechanism or are they just a different style of calliper brake?

Nippons just look different. How good can a sidepull brake really be?!

Dia-compe Nippons did work better than the MX series, the FS`s Were better too, the thing with the Nippons was there was less flex in the arms, thus improving the Braking force on the rims, I ran them early 86 on a 85 Sport, taking FS883`s off, the difference was noticable,
