Title: Sending a bike to the states
Post by: gregsy on October 05, 2005, 02:24 PM
I'm sending a bike to the states, Ive got it packaged down to 55x55x79cm and in weighs 16kg

Royal mail calculate the volumetric weight price to be about £180 -£200 + £10 insurance

Have you guy done this before and who's been cheapest for you?

Thanks for the help

Greg

Sorted it £119 insured.... phew!!

Royal Mail standard international with £500 insurance, had to repackage it into a smaller package but it seems to have been worth it.

Hi Lee,

Royal Mail International Standard, £119 with enhanced compensation @ 14.5 kg

The expensive one was datapost scheduled

They seemed reasonably happy at the other end and it was the full set up, wheels, brakes tyres, couple of seat posts saddle etc etc

That ebay lark is hard work!

Greg

Might get myself a nice cruiser when my finances stabilise, 2nd baby here now, new carpet throughout the downstairs and we might be moving too not to mention the car which has just gone in for respray and resto.

I'm gonna be skint for a while!!!!!!
