Post by: ewokbowes on January 07, 2007, 09:36 PM
Hi guys, does anyone know if this is a Diamondback Turbo?  the reason im in doubt is i can't find any info on this bike anywhere.  however i did have one as a kid originally in black with DB Turbo decals on it.  Also when i purchased this frame it was advertised as a DB Turbo the serial no is F3I00708.  any help would be appriciated

Firstly you need to register at a site which holds images - if you haven't already. 'Photobucket' is a good a place to start as any (click on the link).

www.photobucket.com

Once you have registered, upload your shots (photobucket will talk you through this part), then copy the link usually shown as a long web address called an 'IMG' Paste it into the text box where you type.

the top one is a diamond back

its not a jad - the jads were a bit better. and although the jad frame was ultimately doomed it was well built and a lot of thought went into it.

check the chain guard tabs on the db. there have been a couple frames like that DB on here in the past.

more early 90's i think

nasty frame, but a piece of bmx history none-the-less
i think they shipped with pretty generic parts, so you wouldn't have to push the boat out to build it up

I would say yes, which is why Sandy left them so early. :'(
85/86 was their beginning to their end. :(

It is indeed a DB Turbo from the early 90s. It took inspiration from Haros DV8 Megatube :daumenhoch:
It was a budget release by DB hence the chain guard tabs  ;)

If the same serial # scheme kept on going after 85 then.........the # you gave would make it a 93,I lost interest pretty much with the end of the 85 catalog & then the 86 catalog came out & really made me loose interest. :'(

it is a 1993 turbo. i had one when i was at school and still have it. they came with reasonable spec bits and were the more expensive db of its time. it only came in black with flou yellow stickers on it. it does look really funny but trust me these ride lovely. i have pics of mine with decals on it but need some new ones if you manage to find some..
