It's a specific sized guard for the aero pro and made of metal. There are others which look similar that are found on the super burner for example. But if it's the larger kind and reasonable cond. then I think it would fetch £50+
That bike is awesome, as dave said, I too thought mine was in good nick... but chrikey... That's mint !! ;)
Have you done ant touch ups or any kind of resto apart from a general clean ?
-
Yeah, the back end had some nasty scratches on that need touching up but apart from the odd touch up here and there it is as it was :D :D ;) ;)

The one I have is the smaller metal one from a Super Tuff Burner - oh well, can't give up the day job just yet :(

What was the story behind the Raleigh Team bikes? I saw them as a kid and know they're the bikes Ruffell and Co raced on. But were they made by Raleigh or just re-painted/stickered Aeros?
I really disliked Burners as a kid so didn't really pay much attention (typical bike snobbery I suppose, plus the regular Burners rode rubbish), but I did like the look of the team bikes (just never wanted one back then when I had a Supergoose, PK and Skyway).
-
There were a handful of different team raleigh burners. The one at the start of the thread was built by tange, & a handful by koizumi. These are the ones' ruffell & chums would have rode BITD, but with an race spec. (jimmy, get a pic up !!!)
There were other teams that were made by raleigh... standard mk II frames... basically a replica of these... the geometry wasn't so good like you stated.
The one above is the same as the team aero pro but in chrome (obviously)
btw. jimmy... do you wanna sell this frame set ??
cheers
