I have just got a nice clean skyway TA, seems like an early one, but it has a few scratches on it. I have just noticed through the scratches its chrome underneath, i wonder, when skyway first decided to make the white ones , did they just take a bunch of chrome frames and paint em white?. The thing is a true survivor, with original decals and stuff, so i am pretty sure its not been painted again. Any one else got a white one thats chrome underneath?
-
never herd of this before to be honest.
might be worthj striping it if its nice chrome underneth.
-
Yes my TA BITD was Chrome under the White paint, but.....for some reason the forks were not Chrome under the paint ???
-
there you go.
get the nitromors out :daumenhoch:.
-
hehe weird one, so i guess i have a nice new chrome TA on the way! (shame about the white forks.)
-
makes you wonder why they'd go to all the trouble of getting it chromed and then painting it white?
i'd strip it though if it were mine, what have you got to lose? if there's something wrong with the chrome job you can get it powdered

I remember reading somewhere that Hutch painted all their chrome frames that were not up to scratch, perhaps skyway did the same?
-
Could be, you'd think they'd just send them back to the chromers and tell them to do it again though.
