I remember seeing some kids on their bikes at Rolling Thunder in Brentford back in about 77/78....

It's a shame this place closed down before BMX took off as it would have been great on a BMX bike....

Someone should re-build it over here!

It was over here, it was at Brentford, West London just off the M4 elevated section and is now a leisure pool complex  :(.  I spent most weekends, thursday nights and nearly all my school holidays there in before it closed for good in 1979.

Awesome to skate, you could almost skate from bowl to bowl it was that smooth.  The halfpipe was killer, some parts were over vert.  Best bowl was the kidney bowl (the one with the post in it), I saw many top american skaters there plus the UK guys like Rodga Harvey, Henderson, Sablozky and so on, the kidney bowl was the bowl to skate that's for sure.   The 3rd picture down was the clover with a run all the way round it like a moat, that was excellent to skate too, in fact I don't think there was anywhere there that wasn't skateable  :smitten:

Would have loved to ridden it on my bike that's for sure, some of the bowls were made for BMX I'm sure  :smitten:

I've got some more scans of it somewhere, I'll dig them out  :daumenhoch:

its fooking annoying when you look back like that and see what there was then and then look at the sh!t metal ramps there putting up and down the country now and then tell you they have spent £75.000 on it  :-\

we need more parks like that, free all over the uk

if i ever won the lottery  big time id build a couple of local parks like that for the kids
